Extensive Multi-modal Command experience exceeding 30 Calendar years, more than 16 years of which were on Crude/white products/Chemical tankers, the rest were on Bulk carriers, Containerships and General Cargo ships in worldwide trading.

DD: Professional exposures

2014/October to present, assisted EA Technique (M) Sdn Berhad, in capacity as FSO Master, in the supervision of conversion and retro-fitting works, of deck and cargo systems to MT.Nautica Tembikai at MMHE yards, Pasir Gudang, to become (FSO) “Fois Nautica Tembikai”.

The vessel is now on site at Tembikai oil fields, South China Sea, since end May 2015.

2014 /May, invited by and joined, EA Technique (M) Oil and Gas Division, to support EAT’s upstream

/ FSO operations at Anjung Kecil Oil field in Sarawak.

2014/July supervised the Rigging up, first Oil and subsequent off-loading (export) of FSO Nautica Muar in capacity as FSO Master, doubling in capacity same time, as the Oil Installation Manager (OIM) to Anjung Kecil Marine Terminals, operated By Petronas SKO ( Petronas Sarawak operations) to cater to International buyers.

2012/May to 2014/April: Shinyang Corporation S/berhad, Sarawak.

Invited by Shinyang Shipping, to join their Chemical fleet in capacity as Sea-borne Marine Superintendent in Command, to optimize the Mt.Danum-23, an in-house Methanol Feeder to their Chemical Plants in Sarawak, setting up shipboard operations protocols and training up of 2 full sets of crew, to operate this very ship to SIRE standards.

Job concluded successfully in 18 months. 3 sets of crew were trained for Shinyang Chemicals to fully man and operate the feeder vessel.

During this time, Was also the in-house pilot, responsible for berthing / Unberthing movements at Shinyang Chemical berths, primarily self-pilotage without full-service tug assistance.

2011/May to 2012/end January

Commanding Global Carriers’ white product tanker, the MT.Budi Mesra Dua, on Petronas time Charter, serving all Malaysian Fuel Terminals in East and West Malaysia.

Nothing spectacular was achieved in this small shipping company.

2010/ March to November, Commanding the MT.Gagasan Selangor/Chemical tanker Type II, Regular liftings of Methanol ex Labuan to South China ports and Kuantan, MTBE from Kuantan to Sungai Udang/Melaka, With white products runs around Malaysian coasts and Singapore Terminals.

EE: Life with MISC (Malaysia International Shipping Corporation) fleet

2010/January, Retired from MISC Berhad after 35 years of sea service at age 58. Last vessel commanded was the Mv.Bunga Teratai 4 / a 2,400 Teus container ship.

2007 to 2010 Commanding MISC-AET handy size Crude and product tankers in South East Asian Trade, with added duty to mentor and nurture, understudy (freshly promoted) Masters to be self- reliant and confident in the discharge of their responsibilities. Most of whom progressed to command Aframax VLCCs. This was the best, most meaningful time of my command years, seeing young men fully bloom, becoming successful Masters themselves.

1995 - 2007 : Exclusive Command / CSR experience

Assigned by MISC Berhad, exclusive command of MT.BUNGA KERAYONG, a brand new 20,000mt white products tanker, on long term Time Charter of 12+3 years, to Pertamina Indonesia, primarily to ensure smooth performance of the Long Term Time Charter till the final redelivery of the vessel to MISC Berhad.

(This single hull tanker was subsequently sold to Nigerian interests, renamed Mt. Grace.)

1991 - 1994 Serving as Master to various MISC Owned and Operated,Anggerik Class/Type II, Chemical tankers, plying Europe – South East Asia - Far East / Handling mostly Annex Y and Z cargoes East bound, and Vege Oils on the West bound legs.

These ships were maintained and operated to Ocimf / SiRe standards.

1990 Selected for Chemical and Oil Tanker specialization, under MISC Berhad’s Skill enrichment programs, to pioneer the expansion of their chemical tanker fleet.

1985 - 1991 Serving as Master on worldwide tramping bulker carriers, general cargo and container ships, including Austral - Asia range trades.

1985 Promoted to Master / first Command, aboard the containership / Mv.Bunga Seroja, serving Far East – SE Asia – Australian Service.

1980 - 1985 Serving as Chief Mate on worldwide Tramping bulker carriers, Europe-Far East trade general cargo vessels, with frequent postings to medium haul Intra-Asia container ship service.

1982 Passed Master/Class 1 COC, unlimited 1978 Passed 2nd class COC .

1975 Joined MISC Berhad, serving foreign going general cargo and worldwide tramping bulkers In junior ranks in capacity as navigator / cargo officer.

1975 Graduated from Marine academy under Malaysian Government / Mara scholarship.
