ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Project Title: Biomechanical study of lumbar spine with dynamic stabilization

device using Finite Element Analysis.

Description- A three-dimensional linear FE analysis was performed to investigate the advantages of dynamic stabilization and its influence on the adjacent intervertebral motion segments. The modeling of the Lumbar Spine (L2-L5 segments) was done using the NX 7.5 and the meshing done using HYPERMESH v11 and the same imported to ANSYS 12.0. The goal of this study was to calculate the Range of Motion (ROM) of lumbar spine (L2-L5 vertebrae) under the moment of 10-15 N/m and thus to determine the usefulness of dynamic stabilization device. Results indicated that the use of dynamic stabilization devices restored functionality similar to that of the intact spine.

Project Title: Design of spur gear on Master Cam and manufactured on CNC Milling Machine with Aluminium material.

Description- Main aim was to produce the codes for spur gear using Master Cam

and then manufactured on CNC Milling Machine.

Project Title: A case study on “Impediments in production and management in Small Scale Industry” in Manipal Fishnets, Manipal.

Description-The project aimed to identify the management and manufacturing practices and impediments if any in the functioning of Small Scale Industry and to suggest all the possible measures to control and improve them. Also, it aimed to recommend new techniques for improving the productivity and lowering the costs incurred to an industry so as to maximize their revenue.

CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS

Presented the paper for International Conference-ASMI, based on Bio- Mechanics. The title of the paper “Biomechanical study of lumbar spine with dynamic stabilization device using Finite Element Analysis”.

Attended 4 days Workshop organized by SRM Engineering College, Chennai on

“Finite Element Method” by Dr. J.N.Reddy, from 12th -15th December 2012.
