Welding Engineer

Key responsibilities:

1.Identifying all welding issues (WPS, PQR and WPQ) for all static equipment fabricated in the branch.

2.Interview and select welders and verify qualifications for project requirements

3.Monitor welder performance and repair rates in accordance with job quality requirements

4.Provide verification of electrodes baking and holding temperature including control and identify issues

5.Inspect and test incoming welding materials to ensure they meet job quality specifications

6.Undertake workshop verification of welding machine and electrode baking and storage to ensure all equipment meets job requirement specifications

7.Provide technical guidance for welding sequence and distortion control in accordance with procedures and job requirements

8.Welder qualification record (WQR), test welder and issue the relevant document as per ASME code

9.Experience in designing, welding and testing a Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) to reach an approved Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)

10.Perform preliminary WPS, for client approval, followed by PQR with all related destructive and non-destructive testing to present an approved WPS

3.Prepare Inspection Test Plans (ITP) according to project requirements and client specifications

4.Conduct job materials welding inspections and painting for daily activities

5.Input data related to weld inspection

6.Monitor Welder performance and conduct visual inspections of welds and repairs of welds in accordance with company procedures and international codes of practice

8.Conduct fit up, dimension inspections as per Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
