Professional Experience
TXMQ (Contract) at Bosch Healthcare (Palo Alto CA)
From September 2014 – April 2015 I worked at Bosch Healthcare as a Senior Network Engineer.
Responsible for maintaining network, and troubleshooting.
Creation of network documentation. Organization of Cisco maintenance contracts
Dod Contractor at Camp Parks Army Reserve (Dublin, CA)
Over the past 10 years (January 2004 to September 2014) I have worked at the Mission Training Center (MTC).
Our mission is to provide simulated training to Army Reserve staff. The computers and systems we use replicate the soldiers that the staff would manage. We also have capabilities to provide remote training by projecting our simulations over a wide area connection to remote locations.
All of our Windows operating systems versions, all of our Linux Redhat operating system software, and all of the custom software that we use for training are issued by different contractors who hold contracts with the Army. As a training facility we need to be able to replicate the systems used by Army Reserve soldiers in the field. Our custom simulations recreate actual traffic that soldiers would experience at various remote locations.
For the past 10 years I have managed the network for the Mission Training Center (MTC)
Network design and implementation
System implementation and upgrades
Security configuration and patching using DOD recommendations
Documentation of network configuration and operations
At Oracle corporation (Redwood Shores CA)
I Authored a VPN Security document for company-wide customer implementation. Documentation allowed customers and engineers to communicate more efficiently. Purchasing of VPN equipment based on sales projections allowed the implementation time to be cut further. A VPN connection could be installed in 24 hours or less. Result: Decreased the time needed to implement new secure circuits by 120%.
I also received formal project management training which resulted in getting a masters certificate in project management
At California Bank and Trust (Oakland CA)
Developed written network standards for Architects
Removed and upgraded old equipment
Implemented network standards at all 100+ sites
General skills
Excellent at problem solving
Able to create documentation for management and technicians (Using MS Visio, MS Project, MS Word, Ms Excel)
Able to train technical staff
Can create risk assessments for projects
Continue learning new skills so that I keep current with industry
Over 20 years’ experience in the Information technology field
