Corporate Director OPEX: Responsible for creating a lean model plant for the enterprise using lean leadership and process improvement tools. Coach the plant leadership team through the implementation of strategy deployment using hoshin kanri and PDCA/A3.

Key Accomplishments:

Completed first model cell conversion in the plants history resulting in 45% gain in productivity, 55% reduction in space, and 80% reduction in WIP.

Created kaizen event standard work, launched strategy deployment process, and implemented standard daily visual management across the facility.

4/2012 – 3/2013 Danaher Corporation Washington D.C.

DBSO Corporate Director: Danaher Business System Office Director responsible for acquisition integration, cultural transformation of targeted operating companies, and facilitating courses regarding DBS knowledge transfer at DBS University in Chicago.

Key Accomplishments:

Accelerated acquisition integration of the largest site within the largest Danaher acquisition to date at $3.9 billion. Drove year end results across all operational metrics to higher levels than year end 2011.

Developed a corporate wide standard work process for acquisition integration using DBS to transform culture and build sustainability.

1/2006 – 1/2008 Ingersoll Rand Corporation Davidson, NC

Corporate Director-Business Operating System Office: Reporting to a member of the CEO’s staff, responsible for the development of an enterprise wide business operating system dedicated to obtaining world class results and aligning the corporation under a common operating culture.

Key Accomplishments:

Worked with the CEO and his staff to create an operational excellence system integrating best practices in the industry with the existing cultures of Ingersoll Rand.

Collaborated with the top 60 Ingersoll Rand Executives to develop a strategic plan for the deployment of a common business operating system and created five Enterprise Focus Area Teams to drive implementation within their individual businesses.

Built a central program office of 12 high potential individuals who successfully launched Ingersoll Rand’s Business Operating System.

Developed and deployed 10 common operating metrics as well as 10 core lean six sigma tool modules across 81 facilities.

5/2005 – 1/2006 Danaher Corporation-Gilbarco Veeder-Root Greensboro, NC

Global Director DBS (Lean Manufacturing) and Operations Planning: Responsible for Global DBS and Operations Planning for GVR. Created a global lean manufacturing vision and developed a plan for each site to be converted by end of year 2005.

Key Accomplishments:

Created synergies across the 9 global sites via the development of Kaizen structure, reporting, and planning. Lead Corporate Global Lean Conversion Project.

Assisted in facilitation of 11 Shingijitsu (Japanese consulting company who are disciples of Ohno) Kaizen events globally in Germany, China, Mexico, and the USA.

1/2004 – 5/2005 Danaher Corporation-Gilbarco Veeder-Root Greensboro, NC

Director Global Operations Planning: New position for Gilbarco Veeder-Root to create a global manufacturing strategy, gain approval, and execute the strategy. At that time GVR had 10 manufacturing locations in the US, Mexico, UK, Germany, China, Australia, and Brazil. The position reviewed all current components and products being made at those locations and determined the optimum manufacturing plan globally. This included analysis for any facility start-ups including plans for Eastern Europe to compliment the Mexico and China LCR facilities.

Key Accomplishments:

Created a global strategic manufacturing plan and reviewed with the CEO of Danaher. The plan included growth of facilities in China and Mexico, a start-up of an Eastern European facility, and several new product introductions in the high and low cost regions. LCR sub-assembly centers of excellence were established. The plan improved global direct margin by $30 million over a 3 year planning horizon.

3/2003 – 1/2004 Danaher Corporation-Gilbarco Veeder-Root Greensboro, NC

Gasboy Acquisition Consolidation Manager: Responsible for the Gasboy ($50 million Philadelphia company serving the fleet and consumer petroleum dispensing markets) acquisition and consolidation into Danaher. This project had three phases including the consolidation of two product lines into the Greensboro NC facility, the relocation of one product line to Mexico-including green field plant start-up, and closure/sale of the facility in Philadelphia.

Key Accomplishments:

Succeeded in meeting a very aggressive plant closure schedule requiring only 4 months from plant announcement to removal of all equipment. Completed in within budget.

Increased direct margin of the product lines from 23% to 35% in 6 months with relocation and development of local low cost sourcing.

Created a distribution center in Laredo Texas to manage the product lines which reduced customer lead-time from 3 weeks in Philadelphia to 3 days from Laredo using kanban.

11/2002 – 3/2003 Danaher Corporation-Gilbarco Veeder-Root Greensboro, NC

DBS Manager: Program was a 12-18 month immersion into the company’s lean enterprise system (Danaher Business System) with focus on learning the tools and functional areas within the assigned facility. Succeeded in completing 8 Master Blackbelts in DBS

10/2001 – 11/2002 Isola Laminate Systems Chandler, Az

Plant Manager: Responsible for day-to-day operations including performance, staff supervision, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, scheduling, warehouse, and shipping. Lead the facility from an operational income loss in 2001 to a positive position each month of 2002.
