Application identifies and captures Indirect Foreign exchange requests from the Electronic Trade Delivery system. These deals are later inputted into either OMS or a request is initiated with a sub-custodian. It also accepts manual trade entry, offers a tracking & reconciliation feature for ETD generated transactions and those manually input. The database was later converted from MS Access to MS SQL Server 2000 and DB2 with changes involving converting database definition, creating stored procedures for update routines, access and communication routines.

Application handles repos and loan collaterals, obtains data from remote sites dealing with the bank from the mainframe, enriches data based on preset conditions and posts them to the mainframe databases through transaction screens. The data is ‘screen scraped’ off the mainframe input transaction screens and stored in the local MSAccess databases. Collateral data is imported from Oracle databases and stored in the Access tables for use by the application. This is processed and posted back to the mainframe screens, which in turn writes them to DB2 databases.

The application creates reports and allows for inquiry on the processed data and errors encountered. Was later enhanced to enable processing of international loans and loan return activity and sends outgoing messages in ISITC 54X SWIFT messaging format. It includes unique processing for Scottish Widows/UK trades and built in security features. Generates Swift formatted tickets and summary reports.

Application tracks and reconciles the Collateral positions between State Street and its Brokers. The collateral positions from the banks Broker and State Street are inputted periodically, reconciled, reports generated and messages sent via SWIFT. Collateral data from other locations is imported from Oracle databases and stored in the local tables for use by the application for reconcilement.

*** USD Recon+ (US Dollar Reconciliation System) (Software Quality Assurance)

This is a reconciliation system to reconcile the US Dollar transactions of the forex transactions taking place in the Bank. It involves capturing forex transactions concerning USD currency from subsystems into a central location and “reconciling” them. There are online manual reconciliation procedures and online inquiry screens to view results. The system also generated some reports to view results of the reconciliation.
