• Presently I am leading several projects involving a solvent chemical replacement, new

technology purchases, cost savings, and involved in some others as well.

• Windchill PDM Link 10.1 Library manager for SKF USA Linear Motion and Actuation group.

Extrude Hone, Cation Division, a Kennametal Co. – Shelby Twp., MI

• Designed and implemented solution for semiconductor industry valve manufacturer which

resulted in overall cost savings of $5,000,000 vs. previous surface polishing methods.

• Design, machine, assemble and test electrochemical deburring tooling. (Used AutoCAD

Mechanical 2008, manual Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, & other small shop machines. Material

procurement for fixtures.)

• Program, setup and conduct ECM tests, generate reports for customers and sales team detailing

feasibility results.

• Develop ECM process programs.

• Travel to customer’s facilities to incorporate ECM applications into their product manufacturing

lines.

• Train customers and coworkers in process design, tooling design, and program optimization.

• Research and purchase new equipment as needed.

• Some light chemical analysis on electrolytes and 3D printing sand.

• QA on all ECM, ECD, ECP tests using Kestral Scope, Z-mic, borescopes, and stereoscopes.

Van Loon Industries Inc. – Clinton Twp, MI

• Began employment through Batton Industries temp agency. 6 month contract was bought after

three weeks due to excellent performance.

• Continued employment, learning all aspects of employer manufacturing processes and

suggested ways to improve safety and streamline production. Resulted in scrap reductions close

to 50%, savings undocumented, but estimated at $10,000-15,000/month.

• Machines operated on a regular basis: Vipros 2510 turret punch press, Amada HFE 2203, MIG

welders, overhead cranes, Mitsubishi laser, Cemco 2000 metal grainer, horizontal mills, lathes,

cut off and cold saws, Pacific, Cleveland and Cincinnati press brakes.

• Repaired Unipunch dies as needed, Cemco material finisher, light repair and maintenance on

hydraulic and gear driven press brakes under direction of Foreman.

• AutoCAD 2000 fill-in when necessary to fix recurrent errors and keep up production deliveries.

• Volunteered for and worked night shifts to help employer meet customer deadlines two

summers in a row. Volunteered for and worked over sixty hours many weeks including Sundays

to meet deadlines.

• Used past experience to implement strategies reducing time and material usage, while

increasing safety, productivity, and part quality.

• Occasionally trained new hires on different machines including setup, tooling, programming,

safety measures, and maintenance. Machines included Pacific, Cincinnati, and Cleveland

pressbrakes, MIG and Plasma welders, material finishers.

• Learned Amada/Promecam Bend COM programming on personal time to help employer when

no other operators were available or seemed interested.

• Chosen team leader by owner on some jobs that required absolute high level of attention to

detail.

06/89 – 06/02 From Floor-sweeper to Foreman (family-owned business 1946-2002)

Calumet Stamping Co. – Roseville, MI

• Proudly worked at our family owned business prior to high school graduation. Initial duties

included production of both short and long run parts and assemblies for auto, marine, and wire

handling industries, some government work.

• Designed and tested some weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, and prototype parts. Helped with

maintaining and repairing all machinery. Implemented many cost-saving procedures and time-

saving methods of production, while reducing overall material consumption.

• MIG TIG and spot welding, sheet metal fab, shear, press brake, OBI 50T stamping 200T

progressive stamping, turret punch, manual lathe, horizontal mill, horizontal shaper, hi-lo,

crane, drill press, saws.
