Quality Assurance Coordinator

Responsible for Quality Assurance and Improvement System (QAIS) at the Center which evaluated the quality of mental retardation services provided. Served as audit team member at the State level at other Mental Retardation Authorities. Conducted documentation reviews to ensure the Center was in compliance with the TDMHMR contract. Provided training to employees on identified documentation weaknesses.

• Third party billing in which I would abstract medical records for possible revenues.

• Provide guidance and training to both professional clinical staff as well as technical support staff regarding HIPAA guidelines.

• Reconciliation of ‘discretionary fund’ of approximately $1000.00, with no mistakes or cause for employee to replenish funds.

• Coordination between Social Security Administration and the Center to become the payee for the mentally challenged population receiving services from that agency and the agency social worker assist the patient to pay his/her obligations to maintain other areas of his/her life that would assist in keeping them out of the State Hospital. To this day that agency still maintains this program.
