While managing Leon Valley and Kerrville Centers, selected to turn around Corpus Christi Center from worst-run in state. I turned this operation around in less than 4 months and did so while still managing Leon Valley and Kerrville.

sDrove complete performance turnaround by personally training new manager and 8-member management team.

sCompleted staffing within 3 months, by collaborating with HR on new hiring and training plan.

sExceeded production goals via business plans created with Engineering Group.

Scheduled meetings with the local Teamsters representative and was able to get 60 – 70% of the open grievances withdrawn saving the operation 55K.

TERMINAL / PLANT MANAGER: Leon Valley & Kerrville Center, San Antonio, TX 2009 –2011

Previous manager was demoted in 3rd quarter of 2009 due to very results. Re-assigned to turn around prior manager’s very poor safety and service results in both centers.

sWorked With air group, ensured same-day service comprehensively, by determining flight or truck shuttle designation.

sI created a new plan to shuttle air packages to the SA Gateway, which reduced the need for an additional small jet to fly to Del Rio each night to pick up over flow volume saving the organization $7,800 per day.

Previous manager was demoted in 1st quarter of 2008. Reassigned for outstanding safety results, to turn around both buildings’ failed 2007 safety audits with scores among worst nationally. Asked to reduce injuries 50%, and facilitate passing re-audits, via new safety plans.

sInstrumental in business development meetings with Mexico border cities customers, collaborating to ensure clearing customs for same-day pickup and shipping, via new logistics plans.

sI was able to gain approximately $100,000 in new revenue from the customers in Mexico that I was assigned to meet with.

Both Centers passed safety re-audits within 3 months.

Promoted in 1st year for training, mentoring, and leadership praised by former bosses and daily-contact customers. The manager for the Central center was reassigned in early 2005. I had just been promoted to a supervisor less than a year. Even though I had only been in management for less than 1 year, I was asked to run one of the largest centers in the district for a total of 7 months, until they were able find a replacement. Because of the outstanding job I did as the acting manager in the Central center, I was promoted to manager and relocated to Austin to run that facility. At my former employer, it typically takes between 8 – 10 years for a supervisor to get promoted to a manager. I was promoted to a manager in less than 18 months.
