Experience
Project Manager since ****; Assistant Project Manager starting 2001; Field Supervisor starting 1998; Working in the environmental remediation industry since 1992 w/ 20 years + experience, I’ve contracted with privately owned corporations, government, state, and city agencies. I’ve performed consults for water treatment systems. Worked in all major refineries nationwide, military bases, shipping ports, airports, and railways. I was a proud part of the two biggest dewatering superfund projects in the world (Bayou Bonifuco, Slidell) and (CITCO, Lake Charles) while working for the largest environmental corporation in the world (OHM) for 12 years, and I went through three corporate mergers (OHM - IT Group - Shaw Group).
Past work experience has included emergency response coordination & implication (Director of boat operations of Chesapeake Bay pipeline rupture in 2000. I'm a certified senior heavy equipment operator. Extensive experience in water treatment systems design and operations. I’ve experience with geo probe coring, peroxide injections, GEO land fill construction, liner installs, liner testing, capping, Vapor retrieval systems installs, soil solidification (fly ash, quick lime, etc.) soil stabilizations, Impacted soil removal, mercury removal, levy reinforcements, slurry wall installation around thermal treatment sites. I've assisted in writing erosion control plans for all GEO projects. Experienced w/ Gabion box installs, silt fencing, hydro seeding. Sheet piling install (both hammer & vibratory). Extensive experience with solids volume reduction by use of dredges, filter presses, belt presses and centrifuges (both two and three phase). Extensive experience w/ marsh land remediation working from board road, mats, and pontoons. I've preformed PCB impacted paint and GEO spill remediation for natural gas pipe line contracts at monitoring stations, and compressor stations, from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada.
I've extensive experience w/ fluid hydraulics, fluid dynamics, pumping, and fusion piping. I’m proficient with bypass systems, product pipe lines, storm drains, sewage, and contaminated wastewater. I've performed cured-in place pipe (CIPP) installs, and operated mini robots w/ mounted cameras for drain repair. I’m a senior class dredge barge operator (underwater precision dredging). I've worked hydro sonic, and vibratory drilling rigs, well installations. Moving to California in 2003 I’ve worked with CAL state officials and private contracts while installing underground-contained aquifer turnkey treatment systems utilizing ozone injections in place aquifer water treatment. Extensive experience tank cleaning, tank removal, hydro blasting, sand and dry ice blasting, confined space entry certified.
In 2006 I supervised the removal of 48 underground fuel storage tanks for California’s USPS w/ cost tracking $12.1 million budget, during this time I multitasked and maintained 7 separate contracts, and mentored newer supervisors. In 2009 I accepted contracts from Boston, MA and San Francisco bay area installing In-Situ thermal treatment systems, w/ underground solenoids, incased heater coils w/ vapor recovery, thermal oxidizers, scrubbers, boilers, steam injections, blowers, chillers, fall out pots, sock filters, plate press, carbon cells, sand/media filters.
Administrative
Completed USACE QA/QC program in Tulsa, OK. I've worked w/ estimators, and managers for submitting bids. I've handled procurements to insure job costs are kept minimal as possible, Kept detailed QA/QC logs to supply my employers with needed documentation for billing, record keeping, cost tracking, and close-out reports. I've assisted in writing all my work Plans, Safety Plans, Erosion Control Plans, and Traffic Plans.
I’m familiar with most General Cost Estimating and Budgeting software, Microsoft Word, Excel formats, and CSI formatting. I’m quick to learn new software and assisted the USACE and EPA w/ creating their initial LAN system for filing and storing field data log information for their Rapid Response Programs. I’m proficient in Ladder Logic programming, and coding for remote turnkey systems. I’ve extensive sampling experience, core samples, water sampling, SUMA canisters, soil sampling, soil compactions, brass tubes, Geo Probe, augers, air samples, preparing chain of custody, and familiar w/ most all air meters PIDS, 4 gas.
SAFETY
I’d like to conclude with the most important topic in my construction/ environmental remediation career (safety). SAFETY is, was, and always will be the foremost important thing on any of my projects. I will not be part of any unsafe practices no matter scheduling, deadlines, budgets or clients personal needs. I will not purposely put myself, fellow employee’s health or employer’s reputation in jeopardy to forgo SAFETY. I work hand in hand with safety officers to insure safe work practices are being followed for all daily work activities. I perform daily safety tailgate meetings to insure all site personal has an understanding of daily task, and I cover any potential safety risk. I constantly monitor that work is being carried out in a safe, yet productive manner. I believe that every individual on my projects should have full STOP WORK authority if unsafe work practices are being performed. My view is everyone on my projects are safety officers, and it's everyone's duty to enforce safe work practices are being carried out at all times.
