PROJECTS SUMMARY
1. Title : B-Car Diesel Engine Lugging, MPF and PAC
Software : VSIGN, NASTRAN, Envision, AVL Excite, GPP
To study Lugging issue and compare test data. Modal participation factor (MPF) and system real modal participation factor (SRMPF) to identify the root cause for lugging peak and also identify the critical modes between 30 to 50Hz for full vehicle model. Panel Acoustic Contribution analysis (PAC) carried out for full vehicle model to identify critical body areas/panel for lugging peak.
2. Title : B-Car Petrol Engine Idle
Software : VSIGN, Envision, AVL Excite, GPP
To calculate powertrain idle responses of the full vehicle model using 1.0L GTDI DPS6 – PT idle load case. Investigate critical modes using system real modal participation factor (SRMPF) and Modal participation (MPF) and find out of effect of Engine Modal Energy Distribution (EMED) of full vehicle model in idle condition.
3. Title : B-Car Lugging Side Shaft.
Software : VSIGN, Envision, AVL Excite, GPP
To compare Test and VSIGN Lugging response for the standard solid side shaft with reduced solid side shaft diameter and also with hollow side shaft for B-Car model. Lugging analysis carried out for full vehicle model in VSIGN to identify influence between solid shaft and hollow shaft for lugging response and compared with test results
4. Title : B-Car Engine Mount DOE Study
Software : VSIGN, NASTRAN, Encore, GPP
Objective of this problem is to find the optimum position and stiffness values for LHS and RHS powertrain mount to reduce steering wheel and seat vibrations at Idle conditions. The mount position coordinates are varied from +100 mm to -100 mm from the current ones, stiffness values are varied from 100N/mm to 500N/mm, respectively. The optimum values find out using enCORE-Optimization (Single/Multi Obj Optimization) method.
5. Title : B-Car Diesel Engine Steering Wheel Vibration
Software : VSIGN, Pirate, GPP
To study the effect of tuned mass absorber at 40Hz on steering wheel vibration resonance in idle condition. Run full vehicle model for idle conditions to find steering wheel vibration at 40Hz. Add absorber mass on the steering wheel hub and carried out to study the effect of steering wheel vibration .The absorber is model as a Rigid Body element with mass as 500 grams and attached to the steering wheel hub through a spring.
6. Title : B-Car Diesel Engine Idle Analysis
Software : VSIGN, Envision, GPP
Perform idle response analysis and Modal Participation Factor (MPF) analysis using Vehicle NVH CAE tool VSIGN for compare results with two B-Car models.
7. Title : B-Car Diesel Engine Splitting Stiffness of Roll Restrictor
Software : VSIGN, GPP
Splitting stiffness of roll restrictor into stiffness of individual bushes for B299. Perform idle response analysis using for Single roll restrictor bush model and two roll restrictor bushes model with compare the results.
8. Title : Commercial Vehicle Road NVH
Software : VSIGN, Pirate, GPP
Calculate road excitation responses of the full vehicle model using RPSD – LPG Glen Eagles case file. Compare full vehicle model vs base model results. Find out total forces generated by rear air suspension system in comparison to conventional rear suspension system.
9. Title : Commercial Vehicle Road NVH & NPA
Software : VSIGN, Pirate, GPP
Road Noise status is evaluated of the full vehicle model and find out critical noise path. Compare full vehicle model and base model.
10. Title : Commercial Vehicle Road NTF VTF
Software : VSIGN, Pirate, GPP
Calculate Noise and vibration transfer functions of the full vehicle model for body, chassis and PT attachment points in VSIGN. Compare full vehicle model and base model results.
11. Title : Commercial Vehicle Idle Modal participation
Software : VSIGN, Envision, Pirate, GPP
Calculate normal modes of the full vehicle model for Idle condition up to 40 Hz. Find out Idle SRMPF (System Real Modal Participation Factor) and identify major contributing modes.
12. Title : Engine mount bracket Analysis
Software : Hypermesh, Nastran, ABAQUS
To evaluate the modal, mobility characteristics to find the response of the bracket for the given excitation and failure load evaluation of engine mount bracket.
1. Modal analysis is done for the engine mount along with the engine to evaluate the modal characteristics of the engine mount
2. Point mobility analysis is done subsequently by exciting the engine mount direction with unit load. Velocity is measured at the excitation point as a function of frequency
3. Max load of 40KN is applied to mount bracket along with non-linear material properties & failure load is calculated.
13. Title : Stress and Deflection analysis of Anti Roll Bar
Software : Hypermesh, ABAQUS
To model, analysis and report out the results for stress and deflection of suspension anti roll bars and perform Fatigue analysis to report out the maximum number of life cycles and damage locations.
1.Two models of the ARB are required, one for durability work and another one for displacements. These are differentiated by the connection of the coincident node at the sub frame bush geometry hard point to the ARB
2.Two versions of displacement analysis shall be run (rigid & bushed)-difference being the stiffness values.
14. Title : Fatigue analysis of Anti Roll Bar
Software : Hypermesh, ABAQUS, N-code
To evaluate the damage and life of the ARB and report out the maximum number of life cycles and damage locations.
1. Non linear static analysis is done with durability loads such as 0.8g Cornering (right and left), Max Cornering (right and left).
2The result file from stress analysis is taken as input file in N-code to perform fatigue analysis.
3.Life repeats and damage are reported out.
15. Title : Wheel Stiffness Analysis
Software : Hypermesh, ABAQUS
To evaluate the stiffness characteristics of Wheel for inboard and outboard loads.
