Work Experience
JOHN GROUP INTERNATIONAL (JGI), Atlanta, GA
Feb2015 – To Present
Assistant Project Engineer
Working on implementing JGI’s ISO 14001 certification program.
Preparing reports and bid proposals for the facilities management office in GA.
Reviewing air, water, and abatement regulations, compliances and identifying potential course of action .
Responsible for all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) related matters within the state office.
OSHA Construction Management 10 hr certified.
CLIMATE FORECAST APPLICATION NETWORK (CFAN), Atlanta, GA
Engineering Intern May 2013 - July 2013
Collected and gathered valuable technical wind turbine data from wind farms in existence since 1995
employed in the Electric reliability of Council of Texas (ERCOT) region.
Maintained an excel spreadsheet of large data set to analyze and extract the useful information regarding the
specific wind power at a wind farm to be further used in wind forecasting.
Relevant Experience
GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Atlanta, GA
Aug 2013 – April 2014
Research Assistant at Assessment of Spatial Aerosol Composition Lab
Collected daily particulate matter (PM) 2.5 concentrations and speciation at several monitoring sites around
metropolitan Atlanta using three-channel particle composition monitors (PCMs) that pumps ambient air
through nylon, Teflon, and quartz filters for 24 hours .
Analyzed nylon filters using Ion Chromatography for ion data and quartz filters using Thermal Optical
Transmittance (TOT) for elemental carbon and organic carbon data.
Operation and maintenance of equipment on/off site.
Aug 2013 – Dec 2013
Transportation, Energy, and Air Quality: Life Cycle Emissions Comparison
Analyzed clean coal technology with sequestration and nuclear power technology using quantitative analysis
to determine which will support the daily function of Plug-in hybrid electricity vehicles by the year of 2040.
Performed a life cycle comparison of emissions from hybrid and Plug -in hybrid electric vehicles for 2040
and prepared a report on it.
Jan 2013 – May 2013
Capstone Design Course: Jones Oysterbed Island Feasibility Study
Investigated various shoreline wall construction alternatives to provide maximum protection from ship wakes
generated from container ships at Jones Oysterbed Island.
Recommended a design alternative of installing Wave attenuation devices (WADs) to provide the natural
shoreline restoration.
Prepared a project report detailing alternative design options and cost estimates.
Provided the recommendation to restore marshland in future upon installing WADs on the shoreline.
Jan 2012 – May 2012
Water Quality Course: Designing Systems
Designed a square rapid mixing basin with a six flat blade vane disk impeller for a water treatment plant with
a design flow of 8000 m3/d and determined the basin dimension, input power, and impeller speed.
Designed a surface aeration system for a completely mixed activated sludge system based on the surface
aerator manufacturer, Aqua-Aerobics, Inc’s., requirements and determined the calculated aerator size and
power needed for each installed aerator along with basin depth, zone of complete mixing, and zone of
complete oxygen dispersion.
Designed a completely mixed activated sludge reactor to treat a petrochemical industrial wastewater and
determined the aeration volume, hydraulic retention time, VSS production, oxygen required, and sludge age
of the system.
Aug 2012 – Dec 2012
Research Assistant: Overview of Algal based Biofuel
Examined the advanced method of algal harvesting in biofuel production and provided an optimum
recommendation for algal growth rate.
Analyzed the carbon dioxide sources and the high cost of carbon dioxide feedstock to grow algae; one of the
major obstacles with the technology.
Jan 2011 – May 2011
Environmental Impact Assessment: Modeling Along the Howell Mill Corridor
Performed a before and after microscale air quality impact assessment for Carbon Monoxide using CALINE -
4 dispersion model.
Performed a before and after noise impact assessment using old FHWA Manual Noise Method for the
roadway expansion of Howell Mill and Huff Road.
Determined that CO didn't violate the NAAQS and indicated the need for noise abatement in some areas
under the worst-case scenarios for 2010 and 2020.
Prepared a report on the impacts of the renovation project on sensitive sites and gave recommendations for
mitigation of potential impacts.
