Senior Accountant/Internal Auditor 2002 to 2013

I conducted operational, compliance and financial audits for the Southeastern Division. As a result of these audits changes and improvements were tracked in inventory values and turns as well as financial accuracy which all showed measurable improvement. Performed cycle inventory counts at facilities and improved the accuracy of the operating results by over 25%. I monitored and reviewed all inventories daily and monthly; this increased the quantities shipped, transferred and increased revenues. I initially developed the SOX narratives and tested them on a regularly scheduled basis for compliance. Issues were noted and mitigated so that compliance was achieved.

Slumberland USA Newnan, Georgia

Plant Controller 1999 to 2002

I executed responsibility for all monthly financial transactions and reports for the US operations of this bedding and spring manufacturing plant and operator of retail stores in Atlanta, Georgia. This included the monthly financials along with supervising of A/P, A/R, and manufacturing costs. There were two financial employees reporting to me. In 2002, Slumberland closed all of their US operations.

Senior Accountant 1996 to 1999

Company manufactured & fabricated steel water towers. As the Senior Accountant I was responsible for monthly project cost for water tower manufacturing and the analysis of actual-to- budget. I researched all variances and explained them in a report format. Included in this was responsibility for accurate BOM. I streamlined this process and improved closing time by 3 days. I was responsible for all Fixed Assets and calculating monthly depreciation. Brown Steel was purchased in 1999 causing job consolidations, centralization and the down-sizing of many employees including myself.

Cost Accounting Manager 1993 to 1996

The company manufactured commercial cooking ovens and rotisseries for the commercial hotel, restaurant and fast food industry. As the Cost Accounting Manager I was in charge of a Standard manufacturing cost system. This included setting Standards Costs, capturing monthly manufacturing costs, calculating variances and explaining them to management. I produced a month Manufacturing P/L each month. Developing and maintaining accurate BOM’s were my responsibility. This company closed and relocated to New York in 1996.
