ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Solar Street Light Oct 2014 – Dec 2014
Designed a complete solar street light consisting of 28 components in Creo 2.0
Components were assembled based on different parts of the structure (sub-assemblies).
The sub-assemblies were then assembled for the final solar street light.
All the components, sub-assemblies, and the main assembly were drafted. (BOMs included).
ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards were followed for engineering drawings.
FEA of a Universal Joint Feb 2014 – Apr 2014
Finite Element Analysis of a universal joint using ANSYS Workbench.
Calculated the maximum stress with different pressures.
Examined the places of maximum stress and optimized the design.
Green Manufacturing Nov 2013 – Dec 2013
Comprehensive study of “Green Manufacturing”.
Studied various steps involved such as design, procurement, and product life cycle.
Presented the findings to the mechanical engineering students in a seminar conducted by the ME department.
Explained the importance, challenges, and benefits of implementing green manufacturing.
Dynamic Analysis of a Piezoelectric Bender Jan 2013 – Apr 2013
Led the team in designing and analyzing a piezoelectric bender.
Extensively studied PZT materials, and random vibrations.
Designed the PZT beam in Creo 2.0
Conducted harmonic and modal analysis on the PZT beam in ANSYS Workbench.
Calculated the frequencies manually and compared with the results from ANSYS for percentage error.
Made a report of the whole project and presented it to the class and professor.
Composite Turbine Blade Sep 2011 – Mar 2012
Researched and designed a gas turbine blade in CATIA.
Analyzed (structural and thermal) the blade for Aluminum and Composite materials in ANSYS Workbench.
Manufactured both the blades.
Devised plans on how a company can reduce manufacturing costs.
Created a report of comparing the results and presented it to the ME committee of the university.
Turbo Chargers Dec 2010 – Apr 2011
A study and research project on “Turbo Chargers”.
