Final year major M.pharm project:

Title: “Formulation and evaluation of chronotherapeutic dosage form of an oxicam derivative”.

Description:

An oral dosage form of an anti- rheumatic drug was developed intended for time and site-specific drug delivery to the colon with pectin as the main excipient. Lornoxicam was selected as the model drug for the study. The beads were prepared by ionotropic gelation method. The basic design consists of an insoluble hard gelatin capsule body, filled with pectin beads of lornoxicam and sealed with a hydrogel plug. The device was enteric coated, so that the variability in gastric emptying time can be overcome and site-specific release can be achieved. This approach was helpful for increasing therapeutic effectiveness by improving patient compliance.

KEY-SKILLS:

Have good Knowledge to operate UV/Visible Spectrophotometer, FTIR, Disintegration Apparatus, Dissolution Apparatus, Roche Friabilator, Thin Layer Chromatography, Hardness Tester, Compression machine and pH-meter etc.
