Resume:

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to be considered for the position as advertised and attach my current CV for your perusal.

Although I currently live in the United Kingdom, I absolutely love the United States of America and her people and visited many time and would consider it an honour to work and live there full time.

I own both a property and a vehicle in Tampa and visit up to three times annually. I do not currently have a work permit as I require a company to put their faith and trust in me and offer sponsorship. Without doubt, I know that any references you seek from my previous employers in the UK will be extremely positive and I will readily supply their full addresses and contact details should you require them. In addition, I have made many friends in the USA particularly in Tampa whom I am sure would vouch for my honesty and integrity.

Although I reside in the UK, I would be available for a telephone or Skype interview at your earliest convenience.

I sincerely hope you will consider my application and look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully

Ken Paine

Objective To continue learning from new experiences and expanding my knowledge Experience Jan 1999 - Present Quest/Givaudan

Application Developer/ APS Analyst:

For all the systems listed below I was responsible for the full life cycle, from initial discussions with the users, development, deployment and finally supporting the live application.

Oral Care Portal – System records all data related to Oral care products to be categorized then, using a multi-function search engine the user can create multi-layered pie charts, which represent the different flavour families for each product being analyzed. This can then be used for presentation to the client or for internal use. Before this system was released there was only one employee globally that had the knowledge to create such charts manually, taking up to 4-5 hours. As a result of the new system any employee who has the necessary access can create such charts at the click of a button. Our Oral Care laboratories in the UK and China use this application. SAP Inventory Tool – Due to migrating to SAP I was requested to build and support a global inventory tool (php/MySql app) to ensure accuracy and verification of the product data before loading into SAP for go-live. This application collected data via barcodes on a RF gun. The system was successfully used in Ashford, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Singapore, China, Japan Indonesia, Australia, and the South Africa SAP rollouts.

Stock Management – Sample tracking application (php/MySql app) for Milton Keynes and Moscow sample labs. This app was released at Milton Keynes just prior to their SAP go-live. Application has now been released to Johannesburg, Russia and China as there is no module in SAP to track sample information.

Engineering Meeting Log – Records all relevant meeting information (attendees, agenda, minutes) along with tracking and the ability to report any actions raised.

UK HR Portal - Build and support (php/MySql app) Application used by all UK sites, source of reference for all HR policies, UK Bulletin board incorporated in application

Roles:

Key player in the Quest/Givaudan Lotus Notes migration program. My role included ensuring applications that were due to be migrated would function in the new environment, this included rewriting any code and resetting documents as required. Support all Ashford and global Lotus Notes applications that I have developed over the years with the company. I am currently involved in the Google migration program, this project includes moving from a Lotus Notes email and database environment over to a Google mail/SAP/Php environment. This requires close contact with the users, exporting data, archiving old databases and creating new replacement applications where applicable. In my role as application developer it has been necessary for me to travel globally depending on which projects I am working on/supporting and would continue to do so without question in the future. My role also includes 2nd level support for Givaudan application security systems and responding to any assigned helpdesk tickets. Jan 1999 – Jan 2002

IT Trainer

Responsible for training employees on corporate applications. Giving one-to-one training on graphic programs and on how to use them in the business, particularly in Powerpoint as many employees didn’t realize the different between jpegs and bmp and the impact this makes when resizing images within Powerpoint. Feb 1980 – Jan 1999 - Quest

Fragrance Compounder

Collect, weigh and compile fragrance ingredients in accordance with formulas provided During my time in the compounding department I suggested we change our fleet of forklift truck models to those more suited to the environment in which they were being used as the existing ones were old and constantly undergoing repairs. As I result I was given the task of managing the project and consequently arranged for a number of forklift truck manufacturers to visit the site and assess which of their models would suit our needs. I then arranged the loan of various models from multiple manufacturers to our Ashford site for a one-week trial period to ensure suitability for the tasks required of them. The employees who used them gave their assessments enabling a decision to be made on which ones to purchase.

The second stage of this project was to agree a maintenance program with the Forklift Truck Company. The whole project was deemed both a financial and practical success for Quest Ashford and, as a result, I was presented with an award. Education ITIL – Foundation,
