PEOPLES STEEL MILLS Training Period Six Months
It was good experience during my training period in Peoples Steel Mills Ltd i.e. world class alloy and special steel manufacturer plant located in Karachi, Pakistan. It was set-up by the Government of Pakistan in 1975 with Japanese assistance. The plant was upgraded in 1996 though a technical assistance of VAIS, INTECO and Bohler of Austria. The plant is equipped with modern melting, refining, degassing, electro slag re-melting and necessary casting, rolling and forging facilities. Product quality is assured through modern material testing facilities.The plant has the capability to produce steels according to all major international quality standards and to manufactured many steel grades.

As a Metallurgical Engineer / A.M
As a Metallurgical Engineer in the Production & Quality Control Deptt., my responsibilities included:
- Quality inspection inspects each castings part according to the AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) as per customer requirement.
- To make sure after production casting’s mechanical properties are as per required range.
- To prepare daily inspection report before going to dispatch a lot of castings.
- Officially registered and opened each complaint on customer complaint Performa received from customers via email regarding any casting.
- To minimize and solve each customer complaints as soon as possible in coordination with all concern departments.
- To maintain all soft documents regarding solved and under study customer complaints up to date for each casting and record for each alteration on mold or other to resolve issue in casting.
- Experimentation and innovative studies are constantly undertaken for both manufacturing and product improvements. is engaged in research.
- Quality improvement of the products, productivity enhancement, new products development and processes improvement.

The company deals in Non Destructive Testing for commercial firms. These include inspection services offered by us to Oil Refineries, any developmental work, Steel Mills, Storage Tanks building and installations etc. The Company provide commercial x-ray testing for organizations who are setting up mechanical and commercial works.
