Led a team of three Contract Analysts and seven Accounting Assistants by cross training and realigning department member’s responsibilities to drive improved integrity in management of $20 million in flour inventory, $30 million in flour and by-products contract mark-to-market valuations and financial reporting for 21 flour mills across the US and Canada.

Reconciled and analyzed production reports for 19 U.S. flour mills for accuracy and completeness ensuring sales and inventory are correctly stated leading to accurate financial statements.

Hired and trained 2 Senior Accounting Assistants to fill Profit/Loss roles for a seamless continuation of service to 4 Cargill business units by ensuring weekly/monthly income statements are accurately completed by established deadlines more than 96% of the time.

Created and led training on Lower of Cost or Market to ensure inventory is recorded according to GAAP and Cargill Financial Reporting Policies reducing audit costs and identifying/correcting gaps in Cargill’s International department inventory valuation policies.

Reviewed and corrected department internal processes to ensure no reporting violations are identified during department’s value preservation internal audit reducing external audit costs.

Collaborated with freezer vendors and transportation department to ensure internal controls gaps are identified and corrected to mitigate the risk of e-coli or salmonella positive product being incorrectly released into the food supply. Administered month-end close accrual entries for sales, general and administrative expenses, management fee allocation, fixed assets and internal global billing to drive cost savings over $100,000 from October 2009 to April 2010.

Developed an automated fixed asset report for Koch Supply & Trading’s business segments allowing them to effectively manage their assets, improve liquidity and reduce opportunity costs.
