Senior Materials and Corrosion Engineer Enhanced Oil Recovery Center (July 2013 till present)

Corrosion modeling and assessment – Has performed corrosion modeling using Hydrocor for Bokor and West Lutong infield downhole and production system. Both are high CO2 and sour system.

Production system materials selection s election Has issued materials selection report for several projects covering the entire development from downhole, topsides and export pipeline

Enhanced Oil Recovery method materials selection Has performed material selection for Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP), immiscible Water Alternate Gas (iWAG) and water injection related facilities.

Water treatment and reservoir souring prevention methods – Has designed facilities in prevention of reservoir souring, ranging from materials selection and the use of chemicals.

Flexible Pipelines – Has led the use of smooth bore and rough bore non-bonded flexible pipeline usage for EORC development. Has also specified the pigging philosophy for these flexibles.

TA delegate – Has represented MCI Regional TA1 in performing TA review on EOR projects.

Life cycle analysis – Have performed LCC for materials selection and corrosion management comparing CS and various CRA materials.

Materials and Corrosion Engineer – Greenfield project in Shell Malaysia EP - (Jan 2010 – Jul 2013)

Third Party Inspection (TPI) – Was the SMEP Company Representative for TPI contract worth RM 6.7 Million. I have set up a RM 1.2 Million interim and a long term TPI contract worth of RM 14 Million. Played key role in the managing the contract HSSE management.

Offshore pipeline welding and installation Has developed flaw acceptance criteria for F28 gas pipeline derived from Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) and industrial standard (BS 7910, DNV- RF-F108, API 1104).

Fabrication Substantial knowledge in welding of CS and solid/ clad CRA materials for piping, vessels.

Corrosion Inhibitors (CI) testing – Conversant with setting up test programs, evaluating CI performance, remotely control injection system and analyzing CI system for new gas pipeline.

Pipeline corrosion protection coating – Have specified and qualified the use of field joint coating systems. Have set up the technical criteria for RM 250 Million worth of linepipe coating contract.

Regional linepipe coating yard assessment a ssessment - Have represented SMEP in a PETRONAS-led regional coating yard capabilities audits and assessments.

Prevention of brittle fracture f racture – Implemented and assessed the risk associated with topside piping and equipments for both SMEP offshore and onshore facilities.

Extended use of S13Cr downho d ownho ownhole le for sour service s ervice – Have performed material testing and qualification for Malampaya phase-2 sour gas field. Have presented the same subject regionally in Brunei Shell and at the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), Beijing.

Project LINK Bintulu – Have set up a welders training program in local school as part of social performance and responsibility. In 2013, Project LINK was recognized at Shell Group wide and is awarded with the Shell CEO HSSE and SP award.

PSC linepipe and bends b ends Price Agreement – Have represented SMEP in the technical evaluation.

FAIR + RA (Focused Asset Integrity Review and Read Across) - Was the action lead for Bintulu Integrated Facility in asset integrity management. Have implemented new inspection philosophy, technique and maintenance program under this initiative.

Passive Fire Protection – Was the subject matter focal point for brown field PFP reinstatement program.

Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Have developed a standardize RBI analysis for all green field and brown field assets for SMEP.

Cathodic Protection (CP) Have led an investigation for premature sacrificial anode wastage (stray current) for an on shore pipeline. Have reinstated the coating integrity and CP system of this pipeline.

Corrosion chemical c hemical control c ontrol – Have set up a Key Performance Indicators monitoring system for offshore CI injection. Have implemented biocide pigging program for offshore pipeline for MIC risks control.

Brownfield corrosion corros ion management m anagement – Pioneer in generating Corrosion Management Manual (CMM) for existing brown field facilities in SMEP.

Corrosion awareness campaign c ampaign – I have advocated the importance of corrosion management to offshore operations crew throughout SMEP.

Failure Fail ure analysis a nalysis – Have led several piping failure analysis as a result of internal corrosion and sand erosion.

PIPE-PIPE -RBA – Conducted inspection analysis from ROV survey, IP results, FMEA, pipeline profile assessment for offshore pipeline network.
