Operation Manager April 2012 – July 2015
Responsible for proactively managing, directing and leading the operations group which includes the production, lab, grains and maintenance department and contributing to system-wide operations, strategy development, organizational development, and initiatives across multiple locations. Provide technical support and guidance to additional operating plants, oversee facility budgets and operating expenses, facilitate new technology evaluation, and manage contracts with critical suppliers and service providers.

Plant Manager (January 2007 to February 2012)
Served as the strategic business partner to the CEO, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Leadership Team. Responsible for proactively managing, directing and leading the operations group which includes the production, lab, grains and maintenance department and contributing to system-wide operations, strategy development, organizational development, and initiatives across multiple locations. Provide technical support and guidance to additional operating plants, oversee facility budgets and operating expenses, facilitate new technology evaluation, and manage contracts with critical suppliers and service providers. Work closely with the Director of Human Resources to build an organizational culture that promotes collaboration, high performance & achievement, and the highest quality of customer service.
Increased ethanol production levels by over 20% by effective management of through-puts, capital plant improvements and de-bottlenecking of the system.
Effectively managed manpower to achieve optimum labor utilization and process efficiencies.

Worked with GLE project manager and contractors to help keep expansion safe. Identified construction issues that arose and worked with team to determine plausible solutions.
Worked closely with EHS manager to assure plant had no NOV’s. The plant became OSHA “SHARPS” certified in February of 2012. This was a long process that involved PSM program, incident rates and properly filled out paper work (hot work permits, LOTO permits and confined space permits.
The plant also received many rail road awards though out the years for no rail car issues.
Key contributor to the successful start-up of not only our two plants but also two additional plants that Glacial Lakes Energy was involved with construction and start-up.
Production Manager (April 2004 to January 2007)
Manage day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure maximum production with safe operations. Managed the four production crews to ensure that full production rates were achieved, the latest technology was implemented at the plant to maintain industry leading efficiencies, ensured compliance with all EPA permits, and worked with suppliers to fulfill critical chemicals and products requirement.
Shift Supervisor (December 2003 to April 2004)
Managed shift operations at the plant and ensured that operators were properly trained, consistently followed established procedures and have the right tools to do their jobs.
Fagen Inc. (Granite Falls, MN) 2001 – 2002
Fagen Inc. was partnered with ICM as the premier builder of many of the ethanol plants that were constructed since 2001. I performed several construction functions that included running electrical conduit and wires, general millwright requirements, operating heavy machinery, and various other duties.
Terex Telelect (Watertown, SD) 2000 – 2001
Performed the functions of a Bonder at Terex’s fiberglass facility setting up and bonding of aerial booms.
