People/Management: As a business owner and pastor, I have developed the ability to lead and manage people and projects well. Business/Building Trades: As a business owner, renovation contractor, and property manager, I learned how to identify needs, set goals, develop plans, create budgets, raise funds, hire and supervise staff, set work schedules, cast vision, work with people, solve problems, make adjustments, and get things done. I’ve learned and employed skills in most building trades for 30 years including rough & finish carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, painting, & general contracting.
Computer: I am a competent, advanced, user of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. In addition I’ve learned and become skilled with Google, QuickBooks, and other stand alone/cloud based programs. Using social media and mass email campaigns, I have successfully improved my ability to market and network our business with prospects, customers, vendors, and business partners.
EXPERIENCE:
December 2014 - Property Manager at Lesina at Hammock Bay: Florida CAM license - Executed Board’s agenda to care for the property, trim waste, manage staff, solicit bids, and supervise vendors. I’ve monitored expenditures and have shaved 20% off the operating budget. I saved the Association $230,000 renegotiating contracts. I have improved the quality of life, smoothed out the political unrest, and enhanced the beauty of the property. I have created a mentor program for our custodian to train him as a true maintenance man capable of monitoring and maintaining each major component of the property. March 1985 – Present: Simpson Enterprises – As the managing partner and owner, I research and identify potential opportunities, set goals, develop long term plans, negotiate acquisitions, oversee budgets, develop business systems, and manage staff to insure business success. Gino’s Trattoria: In May of 2013, as the Facility manager, I managed the restaurant’s expansion project from 40 seats to 167 seats by relocating the business to their current location. As the project manager, I researched venue options, negotiated the lease, designed the plans, set the budget, vetted contractors, hired help and local contractors, scheduled the project, supervised the work, worked with city building inspectors, and opened in under 90 days.
Delicious Carts, LLC: In March of 2008, my wife and I purchased the assets of a small, struggling catering company that served one metro area. We now employ 10 people in 6 major metro areas that cater business events in seven states for over 140 accounts. My wife is the current managing partner.
Healthy Choice Technology, LLC: 2003-2008 full time, 2008-present part time: Our company supplies residential and commercial air and water purification equipment to over 400 customers. I also recruited, and trained regional distributors. Our organization ranked consistently in the top ten nationwide.

Master’s Touch: 1984-2004: Created a renovation, custom cabinet manufacturing, and property management company that provided renovation services, consulting, architectural millwork and custom cabinetry for the Broadway Historic District in Rock Island, IL, the second largest Historic District in the USA. My company purchased, renovated, and sold properties for a profit and built up a portfolio of rental properties. I was the General Contractor for multiple renovation projects. September 2001 – 2006: Simpson Insurance – I built an insurance agency that offered Health, Life, and AFLAC supplemental insurance. I earned every sales award possible my first year by adding 18 new corporate accounts and generating $254,000 in new business. At one time, I ranked in the top 5 % of all AFLAC agents nationwide.
October 1975-September 2001: Church Pastor, Chairman of the Board, and Ministry Director – In all five churches that I served, I increased attendance, created ministry plans, and involved each congregation in relevant community service. I worked with a Board of Ministry in each setting to analyze ministry needs, set goals, communicate vision, raise funds, manage large budgets, lease / renovate facilities, and recruited/trained staff. I also acted as the ministry spokesperson to the community and liaison to social services and other community action agencies in the area.
Pastor/Church Planter– Vineyard Christian Fellowship: May 1984 to March 1999 – I started 2 churches and was the Senior Pastor of the Des Moines Vineyard. Each church grew and became more involved in effective social outreach. One program developed a partnership with local business owners, to feed and clothe over 150 local needy families.
Pastor – United Methodist Church, Iowa Annual Conference: Oct 1975 to June 1983 –. As Sr. Pastor of the Wyoming UMC, I increased attendance from 21 to 163 in 18 months, restructured the organization, and implemented a new “meals on wheels” program that served needy residents in eastern Jones County,
