I am writing to express interest in bringing my proficiency in financial analytics and leadership to the position of equity analyst at your firm. Current work experience as a junior equity research analyst and previous experience as a trading intern, as well as my certifications in the field will be an asset to your firm. It would be a privilege to work for a hedge fund with a proven track record, where my talents can be developed and the firm can benefit from my attention to detail, diligent work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
Expertise gained while working in the field of finance has helped drive my passion for the markets. My hard work, determination and drive were essential in accomplishing goals set forth. While enrolled full time at Brooklyn College, I completed four internships while working part-time to pay tuition bills. My passion for finance knows no end, as I have set out and successfully completed the rigorous Level 1 and Level 2 CFA curriculum. As most candidates of the CFA program I was working full time during my preparation for the December 2013 CFA Level 1 exam. Upon receiving my passing score in late January, I immediately began studying for the June 2014 CFA Level 2 exam. In addition to my full time job and preparation for the Level 2 exam, I also began an internship at SM Investors. As a result I was working seven days a week and keeping up with my Level 2 studies. Upon passing the Level 2 CFA exam, I have registered to take the Chartered Market Technician Level 2 exam this coming October, and I am awaiting my CFA Level 3 exam results.
At Forex Signs, a currency trading firm, I learned a great deal about macroeconomics. I was responsible for testing the proprietary signal generating systems developed by the founders of the firm. I had the opportunity to learn alongside experienced traders and learn both physiological and technical aspects of trading. At my current position, I update and create spreadsheets containing operating data, profit and loss, free cash flow and balance sheet statements in order to create forecasting models and capitalizations. Additionally, I diligently follow publicly traded companies by participating in quarterly conference calls. My most recent project entailed analyzing a publicly traded holding company, which was made up of four principal subsidiaries. After diligently reading through the 10-Ks, 10-Q’s, presentations, creating capitalizations and trading comps. I presented my research to the hedge fund manager, which resulted in the fund purchasing shares of the aforementioned holding company.
My knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for success in the field of finance ensure that I will bring value as a contributor to your bank. I look forward to the challenges that accompany the position of equity analyst and welcome an interview to further discuss how I can be an asset to your firm. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Bartosz Trafidlo.
