CURRICULUM PROJECTS
Senior Design Project Spring Semester, 2012 Design of a gas-to-liquids plant to produce diesel and naphtha products utilizing a Fischer-Tropsch reaction process. The project focused on the design of a reactor and a series of distillation columns used to separate the effluent. Recycle streams were implemented and the process was fully simulated in the ASPEN software package.
High School Outreach Project Spring Semester, 2011 Formulation of a lesson plan designed to teach high school students fundamental chemical engineering concepts. The project culminated in the instruction of a 45-minute 11th-grade chemistry class. The lesson included an explanation of the three methods of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation), as well as experiments for demonstration.
