ProBuild is the nation's largest supplier of building materials for home building, professional & contract builders. Working in Probuild as a Sr. Apps DBA with main focus on managing RAC Databases, EBS R12 applications, Performance Tuning and Integrating Delphix.

Implemented Cross Platform Migration Using transportable tablespaces (TTS) for multiple databases including ERP Databases. Faced several challenges during the migration from AIX TO LINUX Operating systems and able to resolve them in timely manner to deliver the databases on time. This migration reduced a huge licensing money which used to spent on AIX servers.

Scripted the ebs pre and post refresh scripts and automated the entire cloning process with NO TOUCH cloning process. This helped in reducing huge number of man hours which used to take prior to automation.

Prowalk is one of the huge Enterprise projects that helps the Field Representatives by reducing Takeoff capture errors, increasing efficiency for sales representatives and manufacturing Previously ProWalk team used to spend a lot of time on manual loading the data into temp tables during the web delivery ProWalk schema refreshes. Worked with them on automating the loads with use of external tables. Created the multiple external load scripts and showed the ProWalk development team on steps for creating the external tables. This overall effort reduced a huge manual load timing during every refresh. This also helped to refresh environments as many times as they need because of simplification of tasks.

Addressed several Production Priorities immediately and deployed fixes to the problem in a quick fashion.

Identified redundancies in databases and applications and consolidated the databases and application there by reducing a huge licensing costs

Identified several performance issues hogging the system and worked on troubleshooting efforts with functional/Development teams and followed up to move the changes to production. Below are some of the changes that helped smooth functioning of production:

Streamlined the Gather Schema Statistics of Several EBS modules.

Identified several long running jobs under RUNBOOK process and coordinated with functional, development teams and suggested the fixes. This overall effort helped reducing RUNBOOK time from 5.30 hrs. to 3.30 hrs.

Observed several blocking sessions because of custom code in the system and created scripts to automate the cleanup of locks to help avoid manual termination.

Identified the root cause for the FND queues locking. Implemented the solution and configured the PCP (parallel concurrent processing) setup correctly to avoid locks.

Observed frequent alerts of file system usage. This is because the logs are not cleaned from long time. Created and automated scripts to do the cleanup regularly.

Identified the issue with incremental backup taking longer time and implemented Rman Block Change Tracking which reduced incremental backup time considerably.

Identified the drawback of the previous cloning methods and trying to improve cloning timings which help deliver cloned instances to internal customers in a quicker way.

Identified the drawback in the monthly maintenance procedures and came up with new scripts which helped to reduce human intervention and big downtimes on production systems.

Implemented the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) on ERP Applications to move from http to https. As part of these changes also implementing the Forms Servlet Model.

Currently planning on implementing the PCP (Parallel Concurrent Processing).

Recommended the Enterprise Team with the Extended Support Patches for ERP which includes several Database Patches + Upgrade from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.04, Application Patches like HR RUP5, ATG 6, Forms6i Patchset 19 and Jinitiator to Java Upgrade and implemented them Successfully which helped save a huge amount of licensing for extended support.

Good at research on patches for any bugs and will proactively research the “Known Issues” in metalink and will try to get the Patches for fixing the known issues which results in lowering the production issues.

Faced Several Challenges with Jinitiator to Java 1.6.17 Upgrades with third party applications and worked with several custom applications teams to get the Changes successfully Implemented.

Worked on the ERP Security Vulnerability Issues and Implemented Several Cumulative Security Patches to be at current.

Implemented the “Inbound SSL” Configuration with Workflow for the issues of Passwords Transmitted in Clear Text by installing Cert in Database server as well as Application Server.

Fixed the Issues with the Performance with RMAN Incremental Backup which is taking similar time as Full backup. Implemented the BCT (Block Change Tracking) which reduced the incremental backup times considerably.

Moved the 8 Terabyte of a custom application Database read only Schema into a Different Database by using TTS (Transportable Tablespace Method).

During the Split of Echostar into 2 Companies Dish/Echostar in 2007, implemented a separate 11.5.10 Instance and a 10.2.0.4 Database with up to date Patch Levels and helped the Dev Team in migrating the setup data.

Contributed to the Enterprise Project of Moving the Databases from HP Pa Risc to Itanium Super Dome (UNIX Consolidation). Worked on migrating several of ERP/non ERP Databases to Itanium and applied the latest PSU Patch Bundles.

Upgraded the Database to 9i to 10g and Applications from 11.5.9 to 11.5.10 CU 2.

Product Profitability of Item SKU Report: This report shows the item cost, net revenue and margin by item stock. The cost portion of this data resides in payables and the revenue portion resides in order entry module.
