SUMMARY

Healthcare associate who has worked as the Omnicell Systems Administrator for a 255 bed hospital in the last 7.5 years. As the administrator, I am involved in maintaining all aspects and operations of the automated supply cabinets involving $626,000 in medical supply which serves 51 par locations throughout the hospital. My direct focus in acquisition of these automated supply cabinets was in relation to ordering supplies and management of these cabinets for cost containment, reducing inventory, lowering operating costs, and appropriate cost capture of medical supplies. These Omnicell administrative responsibilities include the proper operation of these supply cabinets regarding configuration processes, maintaining proper working conditions, cabinet maintenance, and to supervise all restock staff responsible for preparing, storing, and distribution of all medical supplies needed for ancillary and patient care departments. In the last 7 years, I have also been directly responsible for the daily medical supply ordering for the hospital and also responsible for maintaining the medical supply budget of over 1 million dollars. I have acquired extensive knowledge in the Lawson Supply Chain Management System and have developed key experience in inventory responsibilities to negotiate and plan with various outside vendors and the Owens and Minor distribution company to meet and accomplish various supply goals for the Advocate Health System and my hospital. My extensive healthcare background offers an additional 18 years of direct patient care in the Orthopedic and Emergency Departments. In these years, I developed a broad range of knowledge and experience in many different aspects of patient care including venipuncture, orthopedic appliances, traction, wound care and wound closure, E.C.G. performance and monitoring devices. In my twelve year tenure in a 31 bed emergency department, I have gained knowledge and experience in occupational medicine, stock and non-stock inventory control, and supply acquisition. In this capacity, I have nurtured my initial extensive knowledge base in automated

(Omnicell) supply cabinets, their implementation, designs, and use as an inventory control device to reduce various operating costs. At this time, I was also assigned as preceptor for new employees to the department and assisted with key instructional aspects of the correct venipuncture techniques for new paramedics coming through the Emergency Department from the E.M.S. program EXPERIENCE

Advocate South Suburban Hospital Hazel Crest, Illinois 2006 - 2014 Inventory Control Manager/Automated Supply Administrator As Omnicell Systems Administrator for the automated supply system for the last 7.5 years, my duties included complete operation, maintenance, repair, design and server operations of all cabinets. Responsibilities include maintenance of all supply stock, security, maintaining data, systems integrity and training of the system to customers, and duties of pre and post installation support. I remain on-call for repairs after hours. Further experience has included working with customers to build and operate new par locations for stock and non- stock medical supply. Other responsibilities included weekly data base management, researching Omnicel transactions to respond to inquiries, follow up to corrective actions regarding identified deficiencies, and to develop efficient cost capture procedures. I was directly responsible for the supervision of the restock staff and to ensure all activities involving restocking of supply cabinets are completed on a timely basis. I continue to serve as a resource for supply chain and committees concerning Omnicell operational issues. As Inventory Control Manager for the general stores and warehouse area, my primary focus was to maintain the integrity of the physical inventory, analyze reorder points and quantities needed through report analysis to maintain proper supply levels. I am versed in the Lawson SCM System for operations for ordering, charging, issues, receipts, and credits of all medical supply. As well as daily medical supply orders, my duties included conducting daily spot checks, monthly and complete annual cycle count reviews of inventory. Other duties included conducting on-hand replenishment reviews for regular and J.I.T. orders of medical supply, follow up on rush orders, holiday and special ordering schedules for purchasing as required. Responsibilities included processing inventory discrepancies, adjustments, identify causes of such discrepancies, stock expiration and to initiate non-conforming product reprocessing through external vendors. My organizational skills allows me to identify optimal space utilization in assigning all supplies. As a key point person for customer satisfaction issues, I have continued to promote quality service through problem solving skills that foster positive communication and interpersonal relationships with other departments and nursing units. My years of experience has enhanced my abilities to work independently and professionally with the organization and has nurtured work planning skills to manage various independent projects. Other duties included the education of the restock staff on new products,conversions, and status of backorders. I have worked off-shift and night hours to round with restock staff, answer questions, and offer trouble shooting ideas. I do pitch in when needed and assist the restock staff accomplish daily goals when resources are stressed due to high census levels and demand. I pride myself in keeping inventory organized in a logical manner to ensure faster and more successful shipping and handling processes. My additional duties included assisting in putting away supplies, straightening stock shelves, clean the storeroom and assigned areas, and continue with abilities to operate all material handling equipment. My years of experience has enhanced my strong degree of creativity to solve problems in the changing inventory demand. This characteristic contributes to my close work relationships with the distribution companies on resolution of backorders and existing backorder related substitution and government allocations. These strong channels of communication help maintain higher levels of service fulfillment to my customers. Other responsibilities included the processing of medical recalls from the Owens and Minor distribution company. I was responsible to oversee all off-site pandemic supply availability As recorder, I was responsible to document all reports to the U.S. Center for Disease Control using the State of Illinois I.M.A.T.S. System. My pay rate at this time was $25.12 per hour. h Omnicell Par Reductions - Initiated all Omincell par locations stock reductions from June 2013 through October 2013 for a total cost reduction of $30,000.00

h Inventory Cost Reductions - Initiated cost reductions for the storeroom inventory and daily medical stock orders totaling an average of

$21,000 to $27,000 dollars for inventory saving using report analysis and improved stock turns. h Improved Cost Capture Procedures - Assisted in the last two years with Cath Lab, Diagnostic Imaging, and I.V. Therapy departments to improve cost capture measures for key medical inventory worth over $81,000. h O.B./Labor & Delivery Cost Savings - Directed cost savings measures for the labor and delivery department in substitutions for stock non-sterile drapes equal to $6,600.00 in savings for the year for this department. h Medical Gas Safety Rounding - Establish new procedures for the restock staff to monitor portable oxygen tanks on each nursing unit for improved safey and storage concerns.

h Omnicell Repair Cost Savings - With broad knowledge of Omnicell operations and repairs, I was able to positively effect repairs cost savings by initiating these repairs of numerous cabinets. I was responsible for $34,000 in repair cost savings in the last two years once reductions in service coverage was reduced to time and materials only. h Non-Conforming Product Reprocessing - Initiate procedures for identification, collection, monitoring of expired and non-conforming products for possible reprocessing and cost recapture. h Billing Error Identification - I assisted the Revenue Integrity Specialist identify billing errors involving the I.V. therapy department for charge errors of more than $200,000.

Ingalls Memorial Hospital Harvey, Illinois 1994 - 2006 Emergency Department Technician/E.R. Supply Coordinator/Occupational Medicine Technician As a successful, self-directed team leader in direct patient care, I was a prime technical resource for the Emergency Department and staff. Besides direct patient care, I assumed ownership of all inventory and stock issues of this department. I had identified and determined methods of storage identification and location of stock based on turn over, physical capacity and environment. I supervised all cleaning and maintenance of storage areas to ensure compliance to all safety regulations. For the last 10 years, one of my primary responsibilities for the Emergency Department was to construct and optimize effective use of the automated supply cabinets called Omnicells. I organized these Omnicells based on specific needs of the department and when necessary, modified design according to usage to lower supply costs. I have extensive knowledge in Omnicell supply cabinet operations and server functions and data base maintenance. I was also responsible for researching new item request for the emergency room doctors. My interests include bicycle riding, running, dirt bike riding, scuba diving, and listening to modern jazz music. I belong to my local L.A. Fitness Center and am an avid swimmer both off season and in the summer months. I am currently growing my hair for the Locks-of-Love program. The locks of love program's mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from medical hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. Most children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial needs.
