Education:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, High Performance Vehicles concentration at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Expected Graduation: December 2015 GPA: 3.03
Work Experience:
Piper Aircraft Inc.
Liaison Intern
Jan. 2014-Aug.2014
Used engineering design knowledge and repair methods to identify, analyze and correct nonconforming parts in production aircraft. Investigated and corrected engineering drawings and specification errors through Corrective Action or Liaison Engineering Orders. Drawing revisions were made to NX models, AutoCAD and official FAA drawings to improve design and functionality for manufacturing.
EDC Corporation
Student Intern
Sept 2013-Dec. 2013
Prepared FAA Parts Manufactured Approval (PMA) documents for approval of aftermarket aircraft parts. Used Alibre modeling software to model, analyze, reverse engineer, and prototype aircraft components and to determined cost of manufacturing. Tasks included prototyping utilizing 3D printing, material testing, and maintaining documentation for all parts and assemblies.
Embry-Riddle Diversity and Inclusion
Office Assistant
Jan 2013- Dec. 2013
Tasks pertained to developing diversity and leadership programming for the Embry-Riddle Campuses. Researched grants, professional conferences, leadership speakers, and leadership programming to be used by the department. Worked alongside graduate students to research and implement a 3D immersion simulation program that will be used for future student programs.
CATIA Teaching Assistant
Student Assistant
September 2011- May 2013
Assisted students learning and applying the concepts taught in the computer aided drafting program CATIA. Recommend new drafting methods to utilize 3D modeling software tools such as GSD, Parametric Design, and Rendering. Taught and explained procedures for professional drafting and Graphical Analysis.
Project Experience
Society of Automotive Engineers Formula Team: Chassis Lead and Vehicle Integration Design:
Designed and manufactured formula style racecar for SAE competition. Utilized CATIA V5 and Solidworks to interface the design among multiple sub teams. Preformed finite element analysis on the chassis to meet and exceed competition specifications. Considered integration of driver interface and maintainability of the vehicle.
EPA Diesel Emissions Testing: Load Bank Control Design – Class Project
Designed and implemented a control system to simulate a diesel EPA Drive cycle using Arduino Programing. The system was automated to control the power draw of the load bank on a diesel generator. Won a $75,000 grant to continue research and development on an Advanced Selective Catalytic Reduction Control System. Contributed to a peer reviewed International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition published Paper.
Project Haiti: Volunteer project
Designed and built a water purification system powered by a solar energy to produce clean water for a school in Haiti. Proposed and implemented a business model based on economic research and material availability to create funding for the school utilizing the system.
V-22 Osprey Design: Team Lead, Assembly Specialist;
Created a full scale model of a V-22 Osprey in CATIA utilizing a scale model for shape reference. Implemented advanced drafting techniques: Generative Shape Design, Design Tree Management, and Kinematic Design.
Pen Drafting Digitization: Team lead; Replication
Modeled a pen in CATIAV5 utilizing Generative Shape Design, part design, and assembly design. Completed design and presentation implementing Kinematic Designs.
