DCS PROGRAMMING - FIELD AUTOMATION

OBJECTIVE

EXPERIENCE

As a Instrumentation Engineer with rich experience in the areas of Project Management, Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance of Field Instruments and Distributed Control Systems

Presently associated with DCW Limited, as an Instrument Engineer from Feb’ 2013 till date.

Responsibilities

Handling all the breakdown activities, maintenance activities of all field and panel instruments like level / pressure / temperature transmitters & elements, control valves, transducers, flow meters, switches, automatic / semi automatic bagging machines, load cells, sensors, proximity switches, Gas detection systems, analyzers, VA machines, boilers etc.

Programming and executing the logic controls in Yokogawa – DCS CS3000, Allen Bradley PLC / SCADA.

Leading Triple fuel BMS (Fusion Plant – 99% caustic soda) project activities (Erection and commissioning of field instruments and panels, Cabling, grounding and powering scheme testing, loop checking, logic checking, Site-Acceptance test)

Checking P&ID, PFD, logic diagrams, SLD, loop wiring, interlock description, graphic pages, technical specifications, layout drawings, etc.

Performing preventive and breakdown diagnostic maintenance on the process control systems such as Yokogawa CS3000 DCS, Allen Bradley make PLCs and control loops, bus communication as per planning

Raising purchase indents, maintaining Spares through SAP system and selection of instruments and its specifications.

Carrying out calibration of all field instruments, Safety Relief Valves in pressure vessels, pneumatic valves and maintaining the standards as per QHSE norms.

Updating documents related with QHSE, OHSAS, EMS and EnMS for Instrumentation Department.

Planning for Preventive maintenance and shutdown maintenance activities in Chlor-Alkali Division which includes 283 TPD Membrane Cell Plant (UHDE Technology), Fusion, LCP, TCEP and HCL Plants.

Project Activities

Commissioned 5 MLD RO Plant using Allen Bradley PLC with coordination from M/s. Ecochem, Chennai.

Commissioned Triple fuel BMS in Fusion Plant using Allen Bradley PLC with coordination from M/s. Jasubhai Engineering, Pune.

Commissioned various UPS systems (1 KVA to 5 KVA) in DCW Complex.

Installed and commissioned water flow meters in various locations as per water audit recommendations.

Installed and commissioned radar type level measurement for Liquid Chlorine storage tank.
