2. Wholesale/Stack train – Handles rail moves.

3. Cartage – 26 truck terminal around the U.S. in major cities. Generally local truck moves.

Managed Services (formerly Outsourcing) is a division of Sterling Commerce which caters to partners/suppliers/customers’ needs in terms of implementing B2B end to end Solutions. This includes integrating the customer’s systems to their partners’ systems to communicate electronically.

Responsibilities:

Interact with Diageo’s trading partners to collect information about the way they communicate and the messages they send electronically.

Set up the communications which include creating mail slots on Sterling VAN, interconnect the TP VAN to sterling VAN (if the TP uses different VAN), creating setups (AS2, FTP)

Develop the GIS maps (TP specific) which translate EDI data to Application Files (which Diageo used for their SAP ERP systems)

Description:

Managed Services Outsourcing L1/L2 Support has been engaged in wide range of support activities for various SCMS Customers. Mostly involved in Level 1 and Level 2 support activities which in brief is to resolve issues/ alerts. To ensure that the client servers are all up and running and the corresponding Application is functioning as expected. To track all data errors (using a Sterling Commerce internal tool called “In-flight”) and provide support for clients in terms of data errors, configuration errors, connectivity errors, etc. Also, root cause analysis is done for system/application outages.

Responsibilities:

Monitor regularly whether all the production systems are up and running.

Timely check if the data (from client to Trading Partner and vice-versa) is processed and reaches the appropriate destination.

The transactions which are stuck in red in Sterling Commerce internal tool called “In-flight” can have problems with data, envelopes, business process etc., we need do the root cause analysis and inform the client about the problem.

Work on overdue reports which will be generated for the customer, updating the code list in SI (Sterling Integrator) and modify the envelope when required.

Client : Electronic Arts -- EDI AMS.

Description:

Electronic Arts is $3.1 Billion Dollar having offices all across the globe. They are into computer games and animation movies. They started in 1982 and headquartered in Redwood city, CA, USA. EA markets its products in the brand names – EA, EA Sports, EA Sports Big and Pogo

The document formats and standards used are ANSI X12. Initially EA EDI used Gentran server 6.0, which is getting migrated to GXX. Hence we are preparing Field Mapping Description for existing maps which will facilitate GXX team for a smooth migration.
