Current responsibilities include:

Greeting parents, visitors, students at front office, determine need and provide assistance as required (English & Spanish)

Answer, screen and route messages as necessary (English & Spanish)

Acquire and maintain student information needed for recordkeeping including enrollment (home address/telephone number), attendance, transfers (transcripts), withdrawals and census cards

Ensure student record files are properly coded as needed for report processing

Communicate with teachers on reporting requirements and reports, as needed

Update student rosters, files with any changes regarding transcripts, room re-assignments, address/demographic changes

Call other schools/district offices to acquire information needed on student transfers

Utilize Dallas ISD Chancery software to enter, edit and maintain student record files including student inquiries, attendance records and grade report requests

Utilize Microsoft Word as needed for communication assignments as needed (information needed to convey to parents in Spanish)

Plan work schedule based on report deadlines and assignments given

Report to assistant principal and principal as needed

2002-2005 Teacher’s Assistant, Dallas ISD (Preston Hollow Elementary)

Responsibilities: one-on-one tutoring, assisted in the cafeteria, lead small group activities, assisted in discipline and classroom management, transferred students to clinic or other activities (Special Education), helped decorate and organize classroom activities and programs, made phone calls to parents (translating) and completed all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
