Conceived, founded, built and directed the New York University Sports & Special Events Marketing Institute & Certificate Program started in 1979.

Taught, transitioned the Institute into the largest/foremost sports marketing Continuing Education program in the U.S.A. from “zero”

Created 20 sports marketing and entertainment courses. Hired 20 expert instructors. Oversaw major expansion.

CORNER KICK® INTERNATIONAL, President and Founding Entrepreneur, New York, NY – Founded 1995 to present

An Integrated Marketing Company which specializes in marketing consumer products through sports marketing, advertising, promotions, special events, camps, publishing, plus sales of corporate sponsorships. In addition, provides integrated marketing expertise to top-level executives of client companies nationwide to create high-impact/high-yield strategies, campaigns and programs. Company has 4 virtual employees plus selected consultants/lawyers by project.

Created this integrated sports management company through extensive experience in the business of soccer, consumer marketing and publishing. Corner Kick® International desired to establish its Brand name, products and activities as a recognized, respected and sought after trademark.

Launched Corner Kick Soccer Academy in 1999. The academy grew 90% in Year II. Revenue tripled in three years. Hired coaches. Developed database and oversaw website. Wrote brochures/direct mail. Provided the facility management on site. Supervised 15 people.

Launched Corner Kick apparel and website in 2001. Launched Corner Kick newsletter and educational material in 2002. Co-Founded a new soccer education and training company in 2002. Built the company by finding a partner who could write soccer training and grow the internet/DVD side of the business. Then merged Corner Kick International into CK-SETI to build a larger grassroots soccer brand involved in soccer camps, licensed merchandise/properties, plus internet education. Created the vision, mission, marketing plan, and all trademarks/marketing concepts for the new company. It combined grassroots soccer Sports Brand management plus internet/DVD soccer education with a global reach. Folded in 2004 due to lack of funding.

Created and sold World Cup 1994 Soccer Magazine; it sold out.

INTERVISUAL COMMUNICATIONS INC.: Sales Manager Eastern Division - Reported to the President – 1986 to 1990

Introduced “Pop-Up” advertising and print production to Madison Avenue. Supervised 7 people in NY office.

Created a national market presence on Madison Avenue.

Built advertising sales from start-up zero to over $11 million; captured the industry’s attention.

Sold these key accounts nationwide – American Cynamid, Franklin Mint, Heubein, Lederle Labs, NEC, RJR, Seagrams and Swissotel. Won sales awards for effort. Developed major contacts to ad agency media, Client Brand groups, VP Division Managers and agency production departments.

Generated the high revenue stream to where this division of ICI was sold to R.H.Donnelly Inc.

Implemented one promotion which generated a 20% redemption. It had to be cancelled, “too successful”.

TURNER BROADCASTING SYSTEM (TBS). New York, New York 1983 to 1985

Sales Account Manager – New Sports Division. Reported to the Eastern Sales Director.

Had responsibility for strategic planning, development and sale of TBS sports airtime nationwide.

Negotiated and sold the corporate sponsorships which funded three new TBS sports programs in automobile racing, fishing and wrestling.

Authored the competitive sports broadcasting industry analysis utilized by the entire field sales organization.

Sold Braves baseball, Hawks basketball, and SEC football airtime as TBS grew in stature.

Participated in building the foundation for the start-up and tremendous market success of TNT.

MAJOR INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 1980 to 1982

Director of Marketing – Reported to the Commissioner

Lead a marketing and business development program that increased revenues 360%, plus increased national licenses 500%, licensing revenues 700%, and corporate sponsorship 320%.

Launched start-up of the Properties Division, managed All-Star Week and published/sold Missile Magazine advertising.

Delivered 250% net profit gain in first year for the Division through sales to new sponsors/clients.

Generated national recognition for this emerging sports league. Created a “presence” for this sport on Madison Avenue. Supervised 5 people. Arenas were “sold out”.

Missile Magazine doubled in size due to new advertisers.

NORTH AMERICAN SOCCER LEAGUE MARKETING, INC. New York, New York 1975 to 1980

VP of Advertising & Publications – Reported to the Director of Properties and the Commissioner

Conceived, planned, designed and directed production of League promotional programs and publishing operations.

Launched KICK Magazine in North America. Grew the national advertising section from 8 to 80 pages and increased national sales from 3 to 46 national advertisers. Delivered publishing revenues sufficient to fund the entire League marketing organization. Oversaw 10 direct reports.

Generated and sold new corporate sponsorships for the League including Clairol, Toyota and Gatorade. Created a “national presence” on Madison Avenue for the NASL.

NASL became the “hot” sport on Madison Ave. In 1978, the promotion department grew sufficiently to require hiring a V.P. PROMOTIONS. KICK Magazine became, and remains, the finest Soccer magazine ever produced in North America.

Featured as an industry leader in Adweek, Soccer America, and Sports Management Review.

EARLY CAREER EXPERIENCE IN ADVERTISING ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

Advanced to Vice President/Account Supervisor.

Introduced new products for Luden’s, Mennen, and Welch’s; repositioned Muriel Cigars; upgraded image of Ambassador Scotch; and created competitive parity for National Car Rental. Employed with Doyle Dane Bernbach; Warren Muller Dolobowsky; Richard K. Manoff Inc. and DKG Inc.

The National Soccer Hall of Fame: Reported to the Board of Directors – 1987 – 1990. Guided the strategic planning and execution of a portfolio of marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns. Created membership development, tourism brochure and newsletter. Spearheaded all creative planning and development sessions, wrote promotional copy and launched the “Puma Cup” concept. The NSHF expanded rapidly.

Consulted to National clients 1985 – 1993: Blue Cross/Blue Shield for Olympics; Grey Advertising/M&M/Mars, and Sports Publishing Group for World Cup 1994 magazine; Smith Barney for Sales; and Pepsi Cola for the Arts.

Ohlmeyer Advertising, Inc. 1885 – 1986: Orchestrated high-profile marketing/advertising campaigns for Golf, Outdoor Life and Popular Science magazines; wrote the 1985 marketing plan for the NY Yankees and facilitated a number of innovative promotions which increased annual promotion day attendance by 44%; managed multi-media advertising campaigns for the Stroh Circle of Sports syndicated TV program.
