Corporate Materials Manager, 1995-2015
Successfully oversees more than $4M of inventory based in seven warehouses throughout Canada, while managing and mentoring a team of 1 Mid-level Purchasing Clerks/Buyers and 1 Inventory Control Clerk for the National Distributor of industrial tools, fasteners, and shipping room supplies. Directly supervises approximately $17M in annual purchases in goods, and total annual transportation and logistics purchases of $1.5M and $2M. Manages all aspects of the purchase of $8M of required supplies from both the U.S. and Asia, as well as the procurement of $5M of spray foam insulation products from the U.S. Completes all NAFTA certificates.
Meticulously researches, negotiates, and purchases fastening products, pneumatic tools, and shipping room supplies from the Far East, Columbia, and the U.S.
Ensures the proper management of approximately 50 containers per year from the Far East, which requires supervision of cross-border traffic, cross-docking, and distribution worth $1M a year for the seven warehouses.
Accurately performs the pricing and costing of 10k SKU’s for the four regions of Canada consisting of Pacific, Prairies, Central, and Atlantic.
Introduced and implemented cycle counting procedures and reporting systems.
Orchestrated and executed a new centralized purchasing process that is being expanded to the warehouse level for the $17M in annual company purchases including $7M at the branch level and $10M by the Corporate Purchasing Supply Management Department.
Contributes expertise in import and export customs, as well as NAFTA, AMPS, CSA, FAST, PIP, and C-TPAT.
