Completed Landmark Education (The Landmark Forum, The Landmark Advanced Forum, Self-Expression & Leadership Program)
Education:
Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical: Mechatronics, University of Ontario Institute of Technology 2010 – 2015 Landmark Education: The Landmark Forum, The Landmark Advanced Forum, Self-Expression & Leadership 2012 Key courses:
Concurrent Engineering and Design: designed complex ideas using design software. Learned how different technologies work (ie – motors, pumps, multi-phase electrical systems, wireless transfer, phones, televisions, specialized nozzles, printers, and much more).
Manufacturing and Production Processes: learned how to analyze phase diagrams and calculate stresses on different shapes and materials (ie – structure and manufacturing properties of metals, casting procedures, bulk deformation processes). Great understanding of FMEA tables & calculations. Learned and experienced how different machineries and processes worked (ie – plastic welding, plastic vacuum moulding, plastic injection moulding, twin screw extruder, CNC lathe, CNC mill, electric discharge machine, surface grinding machine). Design of Anti-Theft Door: Successfully designed a special door and frame intended for home-security purposes for Sequoia Pars. All aesthetic details and dimensions were included ready for the production line. Alongside an assisting mechanical engineer, stress analysis was done on the door to insure product practicality. Design & Build of Wood Chipper: Designed, evaluated, and prototyped from CAD to finish of an 8 inch wood chipper for Woodland Mills. I worked alongside a senior mechanical engineer learning and putting well thought out designs onto computer with considerations towards the manufacturing processes. The product was functional, practical, aesthetic, and cost effective against competitors. We would prototype some mechanisms then send everything to a manufacturer to receive the full product where we did testing, evaluating, and remodelling. Work Experience:
Mechanical Design Engineer
Woodland Mills – 2014 to 2015
Used CAD software to design wood chippers, portable sawmills, & other products for acreage owners.
Redesigning components for better ergonomics, functionality, and user-product interface.
Great manufacturing experience obtained from understanding costs of different prototyping methods
Learned to consider & implement simplification of the prototyping process within designs. Freelance Product Designer
Self Employed – 2013 to 2014
Developed and designed given ideas for patenting to result in mass production of products.
Implemented functionality, practicality and aesthetics into all designs.
Designed and drafted mechanisms involving levers, fulcrums and gears to produce intent of idea.
Gained problem solving experience and devoted much time to mastering art of simplicity & affordability. Assistant Project Coordinator
Earth Reform Inc. – 2012
Assisted in organizing a non-profit event, raising awareness of social and environmental issues.
Greeted keynote speakers, such as Maude Barlow and Cenk Uygur.
Assisted with technical support during presentations. Mechanical Design Engineer (Design of Anti-theft Door & Frame): Sequoia Pars Wood Industries – 2011
Contract work making use of my CAD experience.
Successfully designed an anti-theft door with every detail along with all dimensions ready for production. CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Machine Operator:
Sequoia Pars Wood Industries – 2008 (summer job)
Competently programmed coordinates given to me by mapped blueprints onto a woodworking CNC.
Generated specified designs, holes, and shapes on to wood, MDF, and particle boards.
Accepted training for multi and single phase systems electrical systems. Apprentice for Junior Engineer:
Pars Robotics Group Inc. – 2006 to 2008
Accepted various duties in a manufacturing facility that builds heavy duty wood working machineries.
Responsibilities included wiring, soldering, tapping, drilling, milling, and moving machinery using lift truck.
