Worked in a team environment to enhance the existing client/server application to manage scanning systems. Wrote the interface to couple the existing Envision server scanning system to the KepWare OPC server to control heat applied to plastics. The customer interface was integrated within the Envision system to visually monitor and adjust the heaters controlled by the KepWare server. The application was written in VB.NET with SQL 2005 as a backend and utilized XML files for most of the customer facing configurations.

Wrote a client/server to interface with the existing server and an OPC server.

Developer

Converted the team web site (70+ pages) to ASP.NET 2.0 utilizing master pages, user controls, and other features of 2.0.

Built a windows application to read information from a VMware Virtual Center’s SDK. The information was stored in an XML file, then presented to the client through a web application.

Worked in a team environment to convert the CDI Windows Server Build application from VB6 to C#. This is a semi-automated Windows application used to ease the deployment of Windows servers and help ensure security and infrastructure baseline requirements.

WinPE and Salamander, a tool from RemoteSoft, allowed the client to build a server from a CD, DVD, or network. The code was maintained under Visual Source Safe. An Access database provided the LOB (Line of Business) requirements and stored machine specific settings that were copied to the server after the drives were configured. The post-installation, driven by XML files, completed the security settings and third party software installations as required.

A License Agreement nag screen was developed to display only when an administrator logs in to the server, and the PO Number had not been entered yet.

User input forms and reports written in ASP.Net was implemented to assist in the maintenance of the Access database.

Created other ad-hoc web pages or windows applications to assist in the routine maintenance of the project.

TAC Worldwide Companies 9/2004 – 8/2005

Worked in a team environment to convert MCI’s current web application written in classic ASP to ASP.NET using C# for the code-behind. This n-tier application, using Oracle 10g to store the data, separated the web presentation from the business logic written as C# classes. Visual Source Safe 6.0 was used to control code versioning. Wilson Master Pages were used to provide a consistent, easily maintainable template for all pages. The pages needed to allow for various languages, so the web controls (buttons, text boxes, and labels) were overwritten in order to lookup the appropriate language’s text from XML files used to store translated text.
