Mr. Stevan A. Raye is a Senior Environmental Specialist with AES. Mr. Raye is a Registered Environmental Assessor (REA) and has over 20 years of experience in environmental and construction industry. Mr. Raye has managed large construction and remediation projects as well as providing Health and Safety training for and directing construction personnel. Conducted a $250,000,000 site characterization, soil excavation and bioremediation of 8,000 cubic yards of petroleum contaminated soil and sludge at a former agricultural tank farm.
Designed and installed impermeable liner and product delivery system for the introduction of microbes to the soil for the bioremediation process.

BHP Copper / Pinto Valley Mine Tailings Impoundment Failure, Gila County, Arizona - Project Environmental Specialist/Biologist
Time-critical removal action conducted in response to the excursion of mine tailings, mine rock, and water debris into Pinto Creek from a failed portion of the mine tailings impoundment at BHP Copper Pinto Valley Operations. Worked closely with BHP environmental and engineering personnel throughout the project, overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Forest Service, with assistance from the U.S. EPA and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, under the Comprehensive Environmental Response Comprehensive and Liability Act (CERCLA).
Provided environmental support for evaluation of terrestrial and aquatic wildlife and vegetation, which was directly affected as result of the incident.
Conducted quadrat plots and line transect surveys to determine re-vegetation growth sustainability and mortality rates.
Additionally co-coordinated field crews in support of re-constructive efforts to restore the affected riparian and upland environments of Pinto Creek.
Responsibilities included re-vegetation of native plant species, monitoring of re-vegetation process, data collection and evaluation, and co-ordination of reporting requirements under an Administrative Order of Consent in accordance with CERCLA protocols.
