Professional Development and Volunteer Experience
Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA)
Community Association Managers International Certification Board Feburary 2015
Director
Community Associations Institute- Minnesota Chapter October 2013 to Present
I joined CAI-MN as a Community Association Volunteer Leader (CAVL) seeking to become a better
community leader during my time as a board member and President of my Homeowners’ Association. I
have attended many educational and networking events and I have served on the Golf Committee from
2012 to 2014 assisting with the annual golf tournament. As a result of my consistent dedication and
interest, I was selected to become a member of the board of directors in October 2013.
President, Board Member
Brittany Village Homeowners’ Association Shakopee, Minnesota
I led and coordinated board meetings with our property manager. I assisted the property manager with
writing, reviewing, and approving the budgets and service and maintenance contracts. I developed
relationships with industry experts and vendors to optimize the services that the Association contracts for.
During my first two years on the Board I was a member at large and as a result of my dedication and
leadership, I was elected President in 2011.
As a result of my proactive leadership, the Association experienced a 100% increase in dues revenue from
2009 to 2013 and has implemented an effective strategy for resolving delinquent accounts. Meeting these
challenges has enabled the Association to complete overdue maintenance and repair projects and also to
adequately fund reserves for future capital improvements. As a result, the curb appeal and safety of the
neighborhood as well as the financial soundness of the Association have improved significantly in the
past five years.
