The design team managed by me, designs connections for industrial and

commercial buildings. Connection designs are done as per ASD or LRFD of

AISC specifications & may include seismic designing.

Responsibilities included:

. Ascertain no of connections in the project & scheduling for

completion.

. Interaction with functional and other team members, Interaction with

client for any information on loads, or other discrepancies on the

contract dwgs.

. Review connection design drawings prepared by draftsmen and Review of

connections prepared by junior design engineers.

. Release of connection details to in-house/ external detailers.

. Responding to RFI's sent by In-house detailers.

. Design review for shop or field issues if any.

. Study of contract drawings & Design of shear connection using

Descon Win/ Descon Brace, EXCEL sheets and then mapping the

connection on contract drawings.

. Design of Vertical Bracing connection using Descon Brace &

corresponding worksheets.

. Design of Horizontal Bracing connection using excels sheets.

. Worked extensively on heavy truss members. I analyzed the type

of connection required & worked out the calculations for the

same.

Team Lead

Duration: Nov 2006 - Feb 2007

I was working as Team Lead for the detailing team. Our team was

involved in Detailing of Industrial Buildings of min. 4000Tonns of steel.

Responsibilities included:

. Planning and scheduling the dates for release of drawings for

Approval or Fabrication with the team members & Discussions with

the PM for finalization of dates and the requirement of

resources for successful completion of projects.

. Verification of complete model for Member placement, Connection

macros, manual connections and other miscellaneous connections.

. Study of 'Back from Approval' drawings and highlighting model

Correction and editing corrections on the drawings.

. Involved in extensive study of contract drawings & raised RFI's

and have also interacted with client for unanswered questions on

approval drawings

. Reviewing of shop drawing sheets & Finalizing E-Plans according

to contract drawing or per BFA comments.

. Preparation of Drawing Log & Letter of Transmittal Developing NC

& DXF Files.

Other Responsibilities

. Worked extensively on creation of "Reports" on XSTEEL to minimize the

checking time.

. Continuous interaction with the design team in finalizing the

connections as per client requirement & providing inputs to the

modelers with the help of excel sheets and sketches.

Aug 2005-Nov 2006

Client: HR STEEL

HR STEEL. is leading steel structure fabricators in Northern America. They

had a huge group of GC's and engineers with their own fabrication shop.

I handled a commercial building project single handedly

and was responsible for delivery of sheets. Preparation of drawing list and

letter of transmittal.

Key Deliverables

. A complete model of the project in X-steel.

Provided connections for all members by macro-programming. Manual

Connections were provided where ever macros were not feasible.

. Created templates as per client requirement.

. Performed numbering on the model keeping in view the North Direction

on project and orientation of members

. Generated and linked drawings. Created assembly and Multi Drawings.

Edited drawing sheets & generated GA Sheet in X-Steel. Preparation of

drawing list and letter of transmittal.

Bachelor of Engineering in Civil discipline from B.M.S.C.E, V.T.U
