connection of 25 employees in a very successful multi million dollar facility. Maintenance, shop, mill,
and finishing locations directly report to me.
• Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with steel production.

of Gerdau North America.

• October 2008 August 2010 Maintenance Mechanic Gerdau Responsibilities Include: Inspection of
equipment, preventative maintenance upkeep on machinery, correct mechanical failures, exercise
and follow LOTO procedures, communicate with operators and management, coordinate with
maintenance electricians and contractors during scheduled down days. Obtain bids and quotes for
work to be done, work with engineering in equipment design. Develop REC’s (Routine Equipment
Care) for operators to take ownership of the machinery they operate and assist maintenance in
machine upkeep.
• August 2010 June 2012 Routine Facilitator of Cooling Bed Operations Gerdau Responsibilities
Include: Discussing safety on a daily basis with employees, obtaining concerns within the area
directed toward safety, implementing change management, enforcing policy and procedures,
creating documents such as Routine Procedures, Job Aids, One Point Lessons, and Operating
Instructions based upon the results from a Critical Task Analysis. Train employees in these
documents and conduct annual audits. Manage personnel, direct employees, investigate and identify
root cause within failures and implement action items to prevent recurring failures
• June 2012 Present Foreman appointed to oversee start up crew Responsibilities Include: Daily
interactions with personnel from all areas of mill. Direct and oversee daily safety crew meetings,
meet with my area leads from maintenance, shop, rolling mill, and finishing mill to discuss and plan
daily schedules. Allocate employees to crossover areas of work as needed, train, manage, and
communicate with employees to improve safety, quality and efficiency. Process product into GMIS
which then transfers into SAP. Communicate with upper management daily, produce a safe and
productive environment with self accountability and autonomy in mind.
