Certification/Experience:
Experience with ISO: I have fourteen + years (tri-star
engineering) ISO 9000 and 9001 I was a key personnel in getting certified.
I am
A TMA (VICA) graduate; that is the study of manufacturing
principle, ISO compliance, Ansi standards and recognized traceable
standards recognized by ISO origination. I am a Certified
machinist under the VICA (to truly understand what this certification is
you
need to research all that it teaches and what it takes to get
certified)
VICA: VICA is the European standard Machinist are certified
through. It is a recognized institute by ISO and ANSI and established
leaders in the field of machining and manufacturing and quality.
TS-16949 Is ISO certification for automotive industries its
focus is on supply chain and defect prevention. In ISO 2008 TS-16949
became a separate and specific certification. Until then it was
part of ISO 9001. ISO 2008 has made some wording issues in
certification issue. ISO still Reverts back to ISO 9001
definitions in such cases.
TRI- Star Engineering an employer that i worked for almost fifteen
years is a supplier for automotive industry, they supply production
tooling to tier suppliers who produce actual components. Like
intake manifold, valve covers, trans casing. Automotive leaders like
Chrysler, Ford, Honda, and Toyota. Purchase tooling from Tri-Star
and instruct what tool combination they want, how many pieces/cycle
rates. Tri-star does the support, documentation. Whereby we do
root cause, chip analysis, reverse engineering. we supplied all the
documentation to comply with manufacturing specs. We did all
reports analysis to comply with ISO requirement and documentation.
Certification for compliance we did APQP, PPAP.
PPAP's APQP I have close to fifteen years of experience and
developing, certifying and documenting results. If that is not enough
experience then I don't know what else to tell you.
SPC, Statistical Principles. TMA taught principles and exposed me
to the principles but no actual on hand experience. This is a
manufacturing production process. for high volume
My experience is High precession, low volume production with
little to no waste (that is lean manufacturing) in a job shop environment
(quick changes, fast pace, handle multiple problems
simultaneously)
Tooling and Manufacturing association: When I took it it was three
years to get certified. It now is a four-year program that teaches the
principles of lean manufacturing; six sigma is a requirement, as
Control plans, FEMEA'S Root cause analysis. These are key aspects for
graduation. As well as material understanding, marching
principles, inspection principles, GD&T, Design, Programming. And many key
skills that employers want their employees to understand, create,
and developed better. The cortication also teaches JIT, Kanban, MRP,
master planning understanding What these process are and
understand the Kaizen philosophy that these principles came from.
APICS Certification in MRP, JIT, Master Planning and inventory
management.
