NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
● Chosen to be the first Research Nurse Clinician at the Duke Brain Tumor Center and successfully improved long distance
coordination and care of neuro-oncology patients throughout the USA. Restructured the reporting methodology to enable
crucial cross referencing among studies and trials resulting in cutting data availability from weeks to a real time outcome
based analysis of patient status.
● Effectively communicated a risk analysis with public health officials, hospitals and clinics, resulting in their “buy in” for
new state wide strategies to combat infectious disease recurrence. Taught disease investigation process and control
measures.
● Trained nursing staff in heightened standard of care resulting in 100% decrease in decubiti and 80% decrease in wound
infection.
● Directed a successful measles vaccination program of 4200 children in five allotted days in Darfur Sudan, a war zone with
a dangerously hostile government. Hired, trained and coordinated 70 staff, organized the infrastructure and supervised the
program within that time frame.
● Developed a structured research database in Ghana, West Africa, for conditions patients present with, treatments and
surgeries performed, and outcomes, thus presenting a picture of the needs, challenges and accomplishments of healthcare
in a resource poor setting where poverty underlies and influences all decisions.
● Invited as Guest Lecturer at UNC Medical School, NC State University, and Wake AHEC Conference.
