I’ve just completed a year of federal volunteer service with Americorps

VISTA, however, my primary work experience has been as a Business

Analyst in RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT . I am experienced with the

major aspects of the software development life cycle (requirements,

implementation, and test), with twelve years of experience in technical

writing in applications ranging from concept to requirements

development, and four years in Independent Verification & Validation

02/14 to 02/15 AmeriCorps VISTA, WV Community Development Hub

Researched and identified food safety and good handling best

practices that lay the framework for the development of a non-

profit aggregation center for farm-to-school food distribution-an

initiative that will provide healthier food options for children and

increased income opportunity for local growers.

Provided standard operating procedures and record-keeping

logs for aggregation center operations. Identified and created

roles and responsibilities of the proposed Aggregation Manager.

To generate buy-in, captured aggregation processes and

communicated those processes via PowerPoint presentation to

the Tygart Valley Growers Association.

Through grant-writing, assisted in raising $60,000 for the

construction and supply of the aggregation center and for other

renovations at The Market Place (a Barbour County farmer’s

market and food hub).

Identified the requirements of a cash register system that

streamlines accounting processes and provides more robust

sales information.

To build The Market Place ‘brand’, used social media to cover

‘just in’ items, new vendor introductions (‘Meet Your Local

Grower’), agricultural-related events, and educational

opportunities, as well as recipes and nutritional information for

In observance of Martin Luther King’s Day, coordinated tasking

and materials for a volunteer work-group comprised of 25

Alderson-Broaddus University students and staff.

From 01/09 to 01/13 Business Analyst, Dynamic Research Corporation/High

Performance Technologies Group (DRC/HPTG)

Managed and analyzed project requirements of a government

redevelopment project and delivered the documentation to support

implementation and verification of the same.

Identified and developed business rules derived from 9 system

specifications – streamlining and translating business processes to

xml ‘if/then’ statements.

Created/maintained spreadsheets that identified business rule

sources, xml, notification types and messages along with a history of

notes, concerns, missing elements, and solutions.
