Research Intern

The purpose of my internship was to prepare and characterize activated carbon from lignocellulosic residuals for vapor

phase mercury adsorption.

I independently developed and performed laboratory experiments, enforced safety protocol, analyzed data, and met

weekly deliverables for submitting my results. Regularly updated my advisor and his superiors on my project’s progress

and delivered an analysis of the collected data.

At the end of my internship, I presented my findings to Weyerhaeuser company associates and showca sed my research

at a university poster symposium, where I explained my results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

PROJECTS Cornell University

Completed a FEL-2 design of a natural gas processing plant in Cambodia and presented design to industrial panel.

Determined overall project and market economics as well as a construction timetable for the plant

Sized and estimated the cost of equipment to satisfy customer needs using hand calculations and steady state

modeling (AspenPlus). Evaluated the health, safety, and environmental impact of the plant and its processes .

Evaluated technical alternatives to sweeten, dehydrate, liquefy, and fractionate raw natural gas. Produced

documentation (heat and material balances, P&IDs, and PFDs) based upon the selected processes
