Owner: Alchemy Glassworks produces decorative glass for commercial installations,
furniture and residential applications. Products and services include backpainted,
sandblasted, waterjet cut, specialty mirrored and laser etched glass. Responsible for sales,
marketing, production, color matching, product development, accounting, business
management and daily operations.
Spraylat Corporation (2007-2012)
New Product Development Manager: Managed a team of technical professionals
responsible for new product development of coatings, silvering solutions, elastomers and
quality control for Spraylat Corporation. Maintained ISO requirements for Spraylat’s
Chicago laboratory. Evaluated existing systems and new systems to improve
performance, reduce costs and increase product offerings. Act as project manager for the
development of novel materials between Spraylat and the University of Southern
Mississippi School of Polymer Engineering. Interfaced directly with sales and customers
on material and process technical issues.
James Hardie Building Products (2004-2007)
Applications Engineer, ColorPlus Corporate: Responsible for developing, improving and
integrating processing systems to produce prepainted fiber cement siding. Eva luated
design constraints limiting production throughput, quality and developed systems for
retrofit or new constructions to eliminate these constraints. Utilized Design of
Experiments and Six Sigma tools to increase material yield from 30% to 80%, quality
from 20% rejects to 2% and increased production throughput by 70%. Developed and
implemented standard operating procedures for James Hardie’s ColorPlus products.
Responsible for capital project proposals, budget management, execution of design,

equipment install and startup for 6 ColorPlus lines across the United States . Developed
standard operating procedures for equipment and material handling for ColorPlus.
Titleist & Foot-Joy Worldwide (1994-2004)
Project Manager, Process Development/Materials Research: Responsible managing
the development of various novel materials and constructions, including development of
state of the art processes to construct a high performance golf products. Responsible for
technology transfer from R&D to production including materials and process to
production facilities. Patented novel methods of manufacturing and improvements to
prior art. Implemented state of the art processing systems for polymeric materials.
Explored and integrated advanced materials into existing p roduct line. Experience with
various process methods to produce polymers including casting, extrusion, injection
molding, UV cure, plasma treatment, coatings, electrostatics, calendaring and
compression molding and barrier coatings. Responsible for managing a team of cross-
functional engineers and technicians. Trained engineers and plant personnel with
complex systems integration implementation and handling of novel materials. Developed
specifications and testing protocol for various manufacturing systems. Responsible for
preparing detailed project management schedules, identifying key vendors and overseeing
implementation of multi-million dollar processes and materials introduction. Responsible
for presenting capital projects for funding in addition to ongoing project status updates to
senior management.
BASF, Dispersions, Charlotte, NC (1991-1994)
Polymer Chemist: Responsible for development of water based and solvent based
coating formulations utilizing emulsion polymer dispersions to support product
development and introduction to US markets. Provided in-house technical service and
support to customers for new products and formulation guidance. Developed low VOC
coating formulations. Applied knowledge of rheology, coating formulation, polymer
chemistry and processing to develop competitive and unique industrial coatings systems.
