RELEVANT WORK HISTORY
Benchmark Electronics Nashua, NH
April 2010 to present
Senior Debug Technician
NOTE: originally hired as a temp for Davis companies at Benchmark from Apr
2010 to Jan 2011, hired on permanent February 2011.
Primarily for Benchmark, I have been debugging, and repairing Mercury's
complex product line of computer and network electronics. Some products are
ITAR approved. Tools used have been B-scan, CPLD programming, Diags, etc.
Common components are Phys, Magnetics, Processors, Flash, Cpld, Asics,
Xbar, logic circuitry, voltage regulators and custom DSPs, ie power manager
chip etc.
Test equipment are oscilloscopes, meters, low ohm meters etc.
I interface with Engineering when needed to gather specs or required info
to diagnose faults. Typically I diagnose failure cause to component level,
using fab-master/Graphics or similar cad programs and schematics. Keep up
to date with priorites, and also service RMAs in timely manner.
Tracking tools such as PFS and Agile are used on a daily basis.
After excelling on Mercurys product debug, a need was for a Senior Tech to
debug Arris/formerly Big-band line of products which are RF products for
the Cable industry-8 channel, 32 quam modules were the standard-I also
excelled in repairing and debugging this product until the entire product
line was moved to Arris facility in Mexico.
Acacia high speed Fiber optic modules were next the product line I have
been assigned to at Benchmark and I have been presently debugging and
repairing 100 G, 100 channel laser, optics cards, and associated
electronics.
Mack Technologies Westford, Ma
2007 to 2009
Senior Debug Technician
Test, troubleshoot, and component level debug of many different products
built by Mack Tech for the various companies. Products included Wireless Id
Tags ( RF), Aeronautical electronics, telnet products, and high end
amplifiers. The various company products that were supported included
Avidyne, Ntag, Harman Services group, and others.
Standard electronic test equipment, ie scopes, logic analyzers, spectrum
analyzer, meters, low ohm meters, etc. were used for debug. Complex circuit
analysis, interfacing with Test engineering when needed, and communicating
with the various departments on defects to improve quality were part of the
daily routine.
Crossbeam Systems Boxborough, MA
2006 & 2007
Test Technician
With Lab-view programs, functionally tested Application, Network, and
Control Processing modules, used in Crossbeams network security systems
which are sold world-wide. Manually ran test programs ( which consisted of
entering manually many test commands) to clear hard drives which were used
on these modules. Configured test stands for testing modules. Various
labeling and packaging was also done in preparation for shipment to
customers.
Provided feedback to Engineering dept. and edited to improve Test
procedures for the benefit of the Contract manufacturer that these boards
would later be tested at. Promptly reported quality and functional defects,
which helped to resolve Contract Manufacturing defects and which helped to
improve the yield quality to 100% on some boards.Removed defective
components and installed replacements using hand tools, soldering
station,etc.
R/D Tech Instruments Waltham, MA
2004 & 2005
Senior Electronics Technician
Supporting the customer service repair dept., extensively used electronic
test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, to component level, fault
analyze and repair microprocessor based instruments containing the
following technologies: RF analog receivers and pulse circuits, digital
logic and sampling circuits, microprocessors with associated memory and
other peripherals, power supplies, battery chargers, keyboards, displays
and interfaces between electronic assemblies. Performed associated de-
soldering, installation,& rework.
Employed various diagnostic programs to isolate and debug component level
faults. I also performed NIST calibration of these instruments using
various transducers on different type materials, ie. Teflon, stainless
steel etc.
