April 2010 to present

Senior Debug Technician

NOTE: originally hired as a temp for Davis companies at Benchmark from Apr

2010 to Jan 2011, hired on permanent February 2011.

Primarily for Benchmark, I have been debugging, and repairing Mercury's

complex product line of computer and network electronics. Some products are

ITAR approved. Tools used have been B-scan, CPLD programming, Diags, etc.

Common components are Phys, Magnetics, Processors, Flash, Cpld, Asics,

Xbar, logic circuitry, voltage regulators and custom DSPs, ie power manager

chip etc.

Test equipment are oscilloscopes, meters, low ohm meters etc.

I interface with Engineering when needed to gather specs or required info

to diagnose faults. Typically I diagnose failure cause to component level,

using fab-master/Graphics or similar cad programs and schematics. Keep up

to date with priorites, and also service RMAs in timely manner.

Tracking tools such as PFS and Agile are used on a daily basis.

After excelling on Mercurys product debug, a need was for a Senior Tech to

debug Arris/formerly Big-band line of products which are RF products for

the Cable industry-8 channel, 32 quam modules were the standard-I also

excelled in repairing and debugging this product until the entire product

line was moved to Arris facility in Mexico.

Acacia high speed Fiber optic modules were next the product line I have

been assigned to at Benchmark and I have been presently debugging and

repairing 100 G, 100 channel laser, optics cards, and associated

electronics.

2007 to 2009

Senior Debug Technician

Test, troubleshoot, and component level debug of many different products

built by Mack Tech for the various companies. Products included Wireless Id

Tags ( RF), Aeronautical electronics, telnet products, and high end

amplifiers. The various company products that were supported included

Avidyne, Ntag, Harman Services group, and others.

Standard electronic test equipment, ie scopes, logic analyzers, spectrum

analyzer, meters, low ohm meters, etc. were used for debug. Complex circuit

analysis, interfacing with Test engineering when needed, and communicating

with the various departments on defects to improve quality were part of the

daily routine.

Crossbeam Systems Boxborough, MA

2006 & 2007

Test Technician

With Lab-view programs, functionally tested Application, Network, and

Control Processing modules, used in Crossbeams network security systems

which are sold world-wide. Manually ran test programs ( which consisted of

entering manually many test commands) to clear hard drives which were used

on these modules. Configured test stands for testing modules. Various

labeling and packaging was also done in preparation for shipment to

customers.

Provided feedback to Engineering dept. and edited to improve Test

procedures for the benefit of the Contract manufacturer that these boards

would later be tested at. Promptly reported quality and functional defects,

which helped to resolve Contract Manufacturing defects and which helped to

improve the yield quality to 100% on some boards.Removed defective

components and installed replacements using hand tools, soldering

station,etc.

R/D Tech Instruments Waltham, MA

2004 & 2005

Senior Electronics Technician

Supporting the customer service repair dept., extensively used electronic

test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, to component level, fault

analyze and repair microprocessor based instruments containing the

following technologies: RF analog receivers and pulse circuits, digital

logic and sampling circuits, microprocessors with associated memory and

other peripherals, power supplies, battery chargers, keyboards, displays

and interfaces between electronic assemblies. Performed associated de-

soldering, installation,& rework.

Employed various diagnostic programs to isolate and debug component level

faults. I also performed NIST calibration of these instruments using

various transducers on different type materials, ie. Teflon, stainless

steel etc.

Utilizing HP 3070 and Spectrum 8000 test platforms, tested, debugged and

repaired a variety on PC boards manufactured by companies such as Cisco,

Teradyne, and Egenera. In addition to troubleshooting, utilized to full

capacity such tools as Fabmaster, PICs, and database logging tool, SFDM.

Utilized standard hand tools to perform repairs on defective PCBs. Attained

testing for quality assurance. Utilized soldering, de-solderings tools,

replaced defective components.

boards. Took ownership of project through completion and release, until

transition from Engineering to Manufacturing was completed. Implemented

transferred to production.
