• Reporting to the General Manger, responsible for the overall administration and ongoing development of

Human Resource policies and plans including labour relations, staffing, management development,

compensation, benefits, health and safety. $150M sales 400 hourly, 200 salaried employees.

• Successfully negotiated an early settlement with the CAW under budget. Contract language increased

flexibility of work rules for both hourly and salaried agreements.

• Strategically managed the growth of a new high tech union free facility (Tilbury) while down sizing and

eliminating a cumbersome CAW operation (Chatham Plant 2). This strategy was designed to meet changing

market demands for competitiveness and product.

• Responsible for the overall thrust of employee relations i.e., empowerment, quality ownership, cross training

and performance management programs. Achieved a high degree of acceptance to the process of change

resulting in a much more responsive, flexible management culture.

• Directed a staff of up to eight human resource professionals.
