plan office environments and working practices including best practice
in ergonomics

collaboration across all operating units

internal/external stakeholders, including senior FT and Pearson

Promoted internally to Director level (part of the senior management team)
to expand the capabilities of the FT's offshore unit based in Manila
(reported to the CFO)
. Expanded the 24 x 7 Manila based team from 15 ( 2001) to 300 (2012)
. Transferred a range of tasks and services to Manila from worldwide FT
business units including editorial, finance (purchase & sales ledger,
cashiering and credit control functions), IT (support and
development), customer services (b2c and b2b), research, indexing,
telemarketing, newspaper feed production, HR back-office functions
. Improved key processes (examples: cash collection levels increased 25%
and 24 x 7 IT support) and cost savings estimated at 1.5 million pa
. Project managed the transfer by implementing new change management
and tasks transfer process in close liaison with worldwide internal
and external stakeholders
. Instigated new local team working practices enabling cross cultural
working at all levels in line with the demands of expanding
complexity. This included recruiting new staff and developing local
and international cross-cultural training programs

the then embryonic world of on-line news services in partnership with two
major international news agencies
. Managed a 24 x 7 multilingual production team of over 100 staff
(translators, indexers, abstractors, data processors) engaged in the
creation of an online database of worldwide business news articles
from over 100 global sources for new online and internet based
products and services.

. Restructured and developed resources, implementing new ways of working
including offshoring to FT Manila (Philippines) both reducing costs

Invited to head up this new electronic venture, in partnership with Goldman
Sachs, following the automation of the London Stock Exchange

new FTSE world indices
