Job Summary: Responsible in the entire perioperative nursing care of the
patient. Rendering quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedure
w ith a deep understanding of surgical asepsis or sterile technique.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assess all aspects of patient needs using holistic approach.
• Pre-operative assesments which include but not limi ted to medical and
surgical history taking, heath teachings and taking note of the general
condition of the client.
• Securing consent and making sure that the patient had a full
u nderstanding of the surgery to be performed.
• Make necessary preparations like availabili ty of surgeons,

• Evaluates operating room patients and plans, implements and
documents nursing care.
• Assists physicians during operating procedures. F unctions in a scrub

• Assist in the anesthesiologist during pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia
care.
