Employment Goals
Earned my B.S in Mechanical Engineering with job experience in my field. Having a challenging job in an office and on the production line has helped me become a better engineer, and will help me with my future career.
Education
Graduated with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from UAHuntsville on May 4, 2014.
Optional Coursework
Fluid Dynamics Lab
Probability Engineering Statics
MAE 495 (Strategically Tuned and Absolutely Resultant Structures)
Academic programs involved in:
Assisted in building a concrete composite design in the 2013 Concrete Canoe competition where the UAH team placed 2nd. Built an onsite oven to cure concrete using Arduino microcontrollers utilizing thermocouples. Created an infrared display system that could calculate speed and compare it to a high speed camera for accuracy for my principle of measurements and instrumentations class. My senior design was the USLI (United Student Launch Initiative) where we built a rocket prototype for NASA. I worked directly with NASA on a structures team using CAD, FEA, and carbon fiber to construct a scale version of NASA’s Nano Launch 1200 rocket for base line drag simulations. Using previous painting experience from automotive applications to design and fabrication a surface finish experiment. It was successfully launched and recovered with all structures intact with payload data.
Skills
Educated at UAHuntsville in the field
of Mechanical Engineering. Co-owner of a paint supply
and technician company. Negotiated with vendors
and saved Tiffins Motor Homes 30% on their material
cost, services, and manufacturing.
• Finite Element Analysis software Patran and Nastran
• Matlab and MathCad
• Metal fabrication
• Welding, paint, and body work
• Microsoft Office
• CAD packages ProE (Creo 2.0) and Solid Edge
Academic Accomplishments
Graduated from Russellville High School in 2008. Attended Northwest Community College for two years with a minor certification in welding. Placed 2nd in the 2013 SAIC case study scholarship competition where a combination of communication and presentation skills were used as the grading criteria. 2013 UAH Deans list. 2014 USLI senior design rocket team fabrication of carbon fiber, and structures testing.
Experience
The Boeing Company as a research technician for the Space Launch Systems program. Designing 3D models, parts lists, PDM/SAP/BOM, and drafting for manufacturing use with CAD ProE. (November 2013-January 2015)
Currently co-owner and manager of Belgreen Coatings LLC where we supply paint, technical support, manage inventory/employees, and negotiate with vendors. Eliminating paint defects and consulting with Tiffin Motor Homes as our top priority. (January 2015-Current)
