• Strong fundamental knowledge of Structural Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Multi body Dynamics and Control
Engineering.
• Proficient with 3D CAD-SolidWorks and AutoCAD, FEA Tools-ANSYS 11.O, MATLAB and SIMULINK.
• Creating detailed drawings in 2D including dimensioning and tolerancing and creating BOMs
• Experience with Arduino Micro controller.
• Hands on experience with fabrication, manufacturing processes, lathe machines, milling machines, grinding machines and
engineering workshop.
• Ability to work with multiple projects and tasks and excellent teamwork ethics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, time management, leadership qualities.
• Effective skills in problem solving and trouble-shooting. Qualified in the use of PCs and associated software.
• Proficient with MS Word, MS Power Point and MS Excel.
Experience
• UIC Motorsports SAE-Student member(Design Engineer): Jan 2015-present
• Developed equation driven CAD models of the rear sprockets using SolidWorks for the formula(F15) race car.
• Created CAD models and built/fabricated parts of bell crank mounts for the assembly of the suspension rod and chassis.
• Hands on experience with the assembly of the race car, cut off wheels, air tools, milling machines, drilling machines, lathe
machines and other workshop equipment.
Project works
• Design of 3D CAD model of a Multi-tool(Swiss Knife)-April 2015
• Individually designed and modelled 3D CAD models of all the parts and the assembly of the Multi-tool using SolidWorks.
• Created detailed drawings of each part and assembly and created BOMs of the Multi-tool.
• Performed FEA Analysis on the pliers when a certain pressure is applied to calculate the stress, strain and displacement field.
• ANALOG PID controls using Op-Amps-fall 2014:
• This project was to implement the theory of summing, inverting, differential, derivative and integrator Op Amps by building
complete ANALOG PID control circuit.
• Coordinated with team members and handled the circuit connections, experiment procedure and the documentation.
• Testing was done of the input output relationship of the PID circuit(i.e. P only, D only, I only, PID versions of the circuit).
Successful calculation of the Op-Amp gains were achieved for the different versions of the circuit.
• Structural Analysis of a Hammer-fall 2013:
• Individually worked and modelled a 3-dimenational model of a ball-peen hammer using ANSYS 11.0 and calculated the
maximum displacements and verified it by manual calculations using Finite Element Theory.
• Successfully accomplished the comparison of the durability of 2 hammers of different material properties.
• Design and fabrication of MAGLEV train model-June 2012:
• Designed and fabricated a model of the Magnetic Levitation train(MAGLEV) using neodymium disc magnets, bar
magnets, plywood, copper windings and DC motor. Worked on this project in a group of total 3 partners.
• Led the project in concept, design, placing orders, purchasing of parts, assembly, and demonstration/presentation.
• Levitation and propulsion of the train was achieved to demonstrate the working of the MAGLEV trains.
Industrial Experience
• VIMFAB-Solar power generation(Intern)-July 2012:
• Exposure to the manufacturing of solar panel mounting structures, installation devices and foundation screws.
• Project work on the manufacturing process of solar panels from raw silica.
• Coordinated with engineers to gain experience of the manufacturing processes of the mounting structures.
• APSRTC Bus workshop-Jan 2011:
• Hands on work with the assembly of the parts of the internal combustion engine and transmission systems.
• Research about working and function of the parts, various defects and causes of the parts of the engines.
Coursework
• Structural Mechanics/Design: Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Advanced FEA, CAD and Applied Stress Analysis.
• Control Engineering: Dynamic Systems Analysis, Automatic Control of Mechanical Systems and Mechatronics.
• Multi body Dynamics: Dynamics of Mechanical Systems and Computer Aided Design of Multi body systems.
Co-curricular
• UIC-COE Toastmasters International-Vice President(Education): Leading the meetings by preparing the agenda,
organizing and promoting the events, making presentations and evaluating the speakers.
