PROFILE
I am a focused, creative and committed individual who is currently completing a BSc (Hons) in
Project Management for construction at the University of Brighton. Through my academic studies
and work experience I have gained excellent technical skills and a good working knowledge of the
construction industry. I have a passion for project management and am looking to enhance my
knowledge and secure a successful career in the construction sector. I am a quick learner with a
good sense of humour who enjoys working with a variety of people in different environments.
Gaining a graduate position will help me achieve my career ambition of becoming a fully chartered
project manager.

Modules studied include:
Project Management: This module provides the requisite skills and knowledge in construction
methods and engineering, from design through construction to completion of a built facility.
Building Performance & Design: This module required the role of brief formulator and designer
of a project. The main aims being the analysis of a site, developing the brief, presenting an outline
scheme and providing the client report to develop a working understanding of the factors that
shape the design of a development.
Project Planning & Analysis: This module provides a problem-solving scenario to develop
individual responses whilst working in a group. The focus is the identification of a feasible plan to
a complex project, which demonstrates the best trade-offs on time, cost and performance bearing in
mind the need for safety and functionality.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Project Assistant (Placement year), University of Brighton E&FM, Brighton.
August 2013 – October 2014
This role involved managing various university projects for the estate & facility management department.
Projects involved a £27 million refurbishment of teaching facilities & office units, a £16 million halls of
residences, a £300,000 temporary portacabin teaching facility, a £16 million laboratory annex and a £1 million
temporary seminar block with office units. The role involved liaison with various consultants & contractors in
the delivery of major capital development projects, attending site progress meetings, commenting/approving
drawings with particular regard to technical issues, providing administrative support & maintaining records.
Assistant Manager, Iftech, Brighton
June 2012 - September 2012
This role involved managing a £500,000 underground heat storage project to provide a heat and cooling source
for the University of Brighton. Duties included: overlooking whole project, managing between 5-10 people, site
set-up, health and safety, ordering stock and materials, attending progress meetings on a weekly basis.

February 2012 - October 2012
I worked on a £32 million project that involved the demolition and new build of Shoreham Academy. Duties
included: managing up to twenty labourers, main point of contact for labourers for any work-related issues or
problems, assisting trades and general clearance of site, getting site ready for handover and labouring duties.
Assistant to Site Surveyor & Engineer, Leadbitter (Seta), Brighton
June 2011- September 2012
Main responsibilities: assisting the site surveyor/engineer with levelling, setting out and surveying as well as
general helping of all trades, keeping site tidy and getting site ready for handover.

● Car Repair and Renovation: I enjoy going to an auction room buying cars and renovating them
to make a potential profit.

certain group projects throughout university. Within work I have always been in construction for
which I feel is very team based.

construction topics.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
I am a keen sports enthusiast and I enjoy keeping fit and active. I play for several football teams
and attend a gym three times a week. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, cooking and
travelling. I have recently purchased a flat for which I intend to renovate and rent out once I have
completed my degree.
