Summary: Highly motivated mechanical engineer with more than two years of
experience in fluid dynamics, thermal engineering, design and analysis,
focusing on phase change, and wicking in microporous structure. A problem
solver with excellent management skills and solid background in the theory
of fluid dynamics and heat transfer and structural analysis.
EDUCATION
Masters in Mechanical Engineering. GPA: 3.5
Expected May 2015
The University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, TX
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. GPA: 3.7
May
1993
University of Mosul, Iraq
Academic Projects:
1. Turbulent flow over backward facing step: Ansys fluent was used for
the simulation. The results of 3 RANS turbulence models were compared
to experimental data from NASA. Mesh sensitivity, solution methods,
and convergence criteria were discussed.
2. Electronic Cooling (Conjugate Heat Transfer Problem): Ansys fluent was
used to simulate the heat dissipation of electronic chip attached to
heat sink and exposed to air flow. Results of different solution
methods were compared.
3. Comparing Analytical and Computational Solutions of a Cylinder Bar
Exposed to Stresses.
4. Turbofan Engine Design: Solidworks was used to design a 3D model of
Turbofan with motion study.
Relevant Courses: Incompressible Fluid Flow, Computational Fluid Dynamics,
Advanced Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Engineering Systems Molding and
Simulation, Computer Assistance Design (Solidworks Concentration),
Continuum Mechanics.
Relevant Work Experience:
Research Assistant / Heat Transfer Lab
University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, Texas / Mechanical Eng. Dept
2013- Present.
. Conducted research on evaporative cooling for both low and high heat
flux applications, wicking in porous structure, activities included
experimental design and set up, data collection and analysis, writing
scientific articles. The study resulted in one publication.
. Ansys fluent was used for modeling and simulation of the lab
experiments. The results were compared to the experimental data for
validation. Different solvers and models were compared.
. Labview code was written to collect data, conduct statistical analysis,
and control the experiments.
Teaching Assistant
University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, Texas / Mechanical Eng. Dept
2013- Present.
. Assisted in teaching heat transfer class for 4 semesters, and one
semester in heat transfer lab.
Engineering Softwares
Ansys fluent, Ansys structural, Solidworks, AutoCAD., Labview Matlab.
Additional Work Experience:
Category Manager / Engineering Procurement
Huawei Technologies USA/ Plano / Texas
2010-
2012.
. Drafted the engineering procurement strategy for year 2012, 2013,
vendors with low purchase volume were cut off, focusing on tier 1
vendor. Optimized the procurement models. Optimized the contract
template.
